Dr. Jose Gilberto Trevino, MD

Dr.Trevino is very straight forward in telling you exactly what you must do in order to help in your recovery. He also was good at answering all the questions that my wife and I had before and after the surgery. I am sure that Dr.Trevino saved my life. Highly recommend

Dr. Trevino is one of the best doctors I have had in my entire life. He diagnosed me with a condition and performed a surgery to fix it even though countless surgeons couldn't diagnose or fix me in the past 5 years. I suffered for 5 years until I finally got help from Dr. Trevino. He is truly amazing and I would trust him with my life over and over again

Dr Trevino has treated me since my pancreatitis attack last Dec. I have regarded his professionalism as a plus in my treatment. He always informed me of what to expect and my wife and I have a great respect for him as my Dr. He deeply cares for me as his patient.

As soon as I saw him flirting with one of the nurses I knew this was not going to be my surgeon. I don’t want someone like that cutting me open. Seek other options.

I consulted to have gallbladder surgery performed by Dr. Jose Trevino and thank goodness my insurance wasn’t accepted because it saved me from having to be cut open by him!! He curses and is rude, loud, and aggressive with his patients and his nurses! It was disgusting to watch. He didn’t take time to explain anything to me and was more worried about answering his phone than talking to my wife and I. I can’t believe Shands would employ such an arrogant man. I don’t care if he’s a doctor. His bedside manner is the worst I’ve ever seen, ever!

Dr. Trevino seemed to know how to handle it illness but was rude and arrogant. He acted like he had better things to do. What’s worse, the nurse warned me that he would do this and to make sure I asked all the questions I had before he left the room. I could tell he was irritated with me and it made me very uncomfortable. I will be finding a new doctor.

I came to Dr. Trevino as a very complicated case. With Dr.Trevino's knowledge and skills he was able to perform a successful surgery on me that most doctors would not have attempted. Dr. Jose Trevino is a stellar surgeon and without his knowledge & expertise I would not be writing this now. He truly saved my life! He provided me with the life-saving surgery I so desperately needed. I had suffered a major attack of acute pancreatitis and didn't receive the proper care & treatment at the local hospital. Dr. Trevino sets the standard for awesome competence, direct & honest advice, and is a very caring & compassionate surgeon. I would bet my life on him--and I did! I'm here to sing his praises and highly recommend him.

My family and I met Dr. Jose Trevino after a visit to our local emergency room which resulted in being transported to Shands at UF. When I returned to his office for my follow up appointment, he told me that I needed to have my pancreas removed. He was very straight forward and informative regarding what is known as a Whipple procedure. He spent all the time we needed answering multiple questions, and was there for anything we needed with numerous phone calls and office visits. From what I understand, the Whipple procedure is quite a complicated and extensive surgery in itself. He also came upon some other problems and issues during surgery in addition to what was originally planned and/or expected. There are not enough thankful words or ways to describe the amount of support provided by Dr. Trevino, not only throughout the surgery and healing process, but to this very day. My family and I owe everything to him and his staff for me still having the life I have today, 5 years later!
