Dr. Joseph Ferrara Amato, MD

I'm not sure what the office staff does but they do not send reminders of appointments nor do they answer the phone. They don't call with test results and lose viles of blood taken for said tests so you have to have blood drawn multiple times. It's just a mess.

I started going there when I was 13 to get pills because of terrible periods. I am now 22 and married and I wouldn’t change Dr. Amato for anyone else. He is very nice and professional. My mom, aunt and I are very pleased with him!

Although Dr Amato is wonderful, his staff and office policies are horrible. After switching insurance carriers they refused to see me for an emergency because I didn't have a card yet. The insurance company offered to verify my coverage over the phone, but the office refused the verification. At the time, I had been a patient for 15 years and had never had any billing issues.

I have seen Dr. Amato for over 10 years. He started seeing me as a teenager and delivered both of my children. I am currently pregnant and seeing him again for the birth of my third! He is caring, understanding, has a great sense of humor, and makes you feel like you are an important part of his day. :) I recommend anyone of any age to see him!

Dr Amato was excellent. He helped us with both of our children and would highly recommend him to anyone.

I am on my 2nd child and Dr. Amato will be doing my c-section again. He has been a great comfort to me during this pregnancy. He is kind, caring, empathetic, and a true gentleman. I have sent friends and family to him and they all love him. Any patient is lucky to have him!!!

Dr. Amato was my delivery doctor, not my regular ob/gyn. After 2.5 hours of pushing he chose to use a vacuum extraction with another doctor pushing on top of my stomach (babies heart rate increasing). It popped off once. Baby was fine but left me with a 4th degree episiotomy and worse. It took a full year to feel somewhat normal again. My current doctor says the damage was due to the use of vacuum before the head was fully crowned. I now am afraid I will not be able to carry a baby to term because of my pelvic floor not being damaged (one miscarriage, pregnant now). I wonder all the time why he did not do a caesarean. I know decisions need to be made quickly but I cant express in words the stress over feeling like you will never be normal again. Also, my obgyn and the rest of the practice could have cared less about my concerns once the baby was born.

Dr.Amato preformed my hysterectomy which was corretlated with bladder repair surgery. He did an excellent job.
