Dr. Joseph John Bedway, MD

Dr. Bedway is thorough when explaining procedures and what his plans are. He is great at updating family members himself and has a great bedside manner.

I am new to Florida and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr. Bedway performed a single mastectomy. He is the most compassionate doctor I have ever met. He did an excellent job on my surgery, all home health nurses that came to check on me could not believe how great my incision was healing. Coming from the Boston area, I was afraid to go through this in a new location. But I cannot thank Dr. Bedway and his wonderful staff for the care I have been receiving.

Dr. Bedway performed my bilateral mastectomy due to a breast cancer diagnosis. Dr. Bedway was thorough and compassionate when meeting with my husband and I about treatment options. Dr. Bedway took his time and never rushed me regarding my appointments before and after surgery. He is a top notch Doctor whom I’d recommend very highly!

I have not received medical treatment from Dr. Bedway, but I did have a very bad experience with the front office. My doctor referred me to Dr. Bedway and Dr. Bedway's office gave me a call to schedule my appointment. A person named Kathy left me a message. I called back and a very curt and rude person spoke with me. It was as if I was bothering her by calling. She used the word, "Sir" very sarcastically and had a very rude tone to her voice. Kathy was off work the day I called and the lady on the phone said, " Are you sure you were called by our office, SIR? I have checked with our staff and we have no record of the referral." I told her that Kathy is the person who called me and she said in a very rude tone, " Well, she is off today and her files are locked and I can't help you, SIR." I asked if there were anyone else that could schedule an appointment for me. She said, " What is your phone number, SIR?" At that point, I was so upset with her tone, and told her that since Kathy… has already called me, to simply give Kathy a message to call me since Kathy obviously has my number since she had called me the previous day. Three days later and I have yet to hear back from their office. I am writing this review in hopes that Dr. Bedway look into this and perhaps encourage a more customer friendly service office. In addition, it seems odd that if ONE person is off work, they are not able to fully keep the office running with basic services such as booking an appointment. This seems very odd to me. I know it is hard to be perfect in every aspect, but the front office should be friendly at the very least.

Dr. Bedway is one of the best doctors I've been blessed to encounter during this painful stressful situation. He and his staff knew all about me before I ever met them. They were all very kind, professional and very thorough! An excellent team I'm blessed to have found them. My surgery went well and now I just have to recover. Thank you just isn't enough for the help they gave me. Best surgeon and team in Cocoa Beach!

Dr. Bedway has an excellent knowledge of his surgical skills. He explains the procedure benefits and risks thoroughly, allowing time for any questions. His office staff is caring & helpful, my phone calls were returned in an acceptable amount of time. I will definitely use his services in the future, if needed and refer him to family/friends.

Was brought in by ambulance from my job at about 12am. Had a ruptured bowel. Not only did he repair it, I had further complications and he saw the urgency of it and proceeded appropriately to rectify the situation. I also had him repair my hernia. His skill, compassion and bedside manner got myself and my family through a 5 month ordeal. I would highly recommend him, he is a credit to the medical profession.

If I could give 5 stars I would. Dr. Bedway listened to our concerns, explained issues, and was very knowledgeable. He was kind and compassionate. He took his time and was not in a hurry. We will return to him if we need a surgeon or surgeon's advice.

Had a surgery done with him because my general doctor advised me that he is the only Health First general surgeon in Brevard County. The turn out was worse than the beginnin. Conclusion: if you can run away from him, do it! Go to Orlando, pay a doctor out of the network, you will be better off!!
