Dr. Joseph Hampton Burkett, MD

I have never been a patient of his and have not worked with him in years but when i did work with him it was amazing. After 25 years I looked his name up today because I was thinking about my time in working at a Psych Hospital in Arlington TX and I had such fond memories of working with Dr. B, as we called him. I was a case manager and worked very closely with in developing treatment plans for patients. He was genuinely caring and very competent. I worked with many doctors there but Dr. B was so much better than the rest. He specialized in medication management. He would not medicate for the sake of medicating. He could help patients when other doctors could not because he took the time to manage the meds and check blood levels and make adjustments as needed. I respected him more than any other doctor I worked with because of his genuine care for his patients. I dont mine sharing my name, Mike Wallace.

It is difficult to believe Dr. B. is guilty of any the accusations by other in the ratings. I call him the drug king because he is essentially responsible for what I am given to help my mood. However, we as pt must also remember the way we act will reflect our treatment. Dr B. tries to help us the best he can. I have nothing negative to say about him.

Would not even talk to me.

The State Board of Medical Examiners do not have any complaints on him. He worked for a hospital that was owned by Tenet (N.M.E.). Fraud and total disregard for patients was the name of the game. He does not care about his patients and dopes them up. He is just like Dr.Lisa Routh. She has broken all the rules just like Burkett, but has a record with The State Board.
