Dr. Joseph Albert Cardinale, MD

He had no bedside manner whatsoever. I went to him after an MRI & he didn't explain anything unless I asked.

In my experience Dr. Joseph Cardinale did not care nor was he interested in my medical needs when it came to my pain management healthcare. He was 100% indifferent w/his attitude towards me & how his attitude affected my life. In my opinion he should have only practiced anesthesiology. I would tell anyone to choose ANY OTHER pain management doctor at his practice, Orlin & Cohen/Northwell, rather than seek medical care from him. This review of Dr. Cardinale is A LOT nicer than how he actually treated me. Since he is part of a much larger medical practice I have chosen to sign this review anonymously for fear of retaliation from his practice & colleagues; I need to be able to seek help from his orthopedic/pain management practice & those owned by Northwell Health, as it is the largest private medical group in NYS.

I have been going to dr Cardinale for a few years on and off for leg pain due to sciatica. The last time I went to him for hip pain. He ordered an MRI and discovered from the results that I had some kind of growths in that area. He kept calling me urging that I see my family doctor. I’m so grateful he essentially found my cancer early.

I went to Dr. Cardinale for leg pain after two years of going to an orthopedist who was treating me with knee Injections that never helped my leg pain. Dr. Cardinale was determined to help find out where the pain was originating from and why I was so uncomfortable. It took him one visit and one test to find that I had a problem with a bulging disc in my spine! I am very grateful to Dr. Cardinale for his passion and concern, and I highly recommend him without hesitation. His medical team is just as pleasant and thorough and you can tell that his staff is so happy working with him. All in all it was the best experience I have ever had with any Doctor, and I am pain free!

Having Dr.Cardinale as my doctor made a really difficult time a great deal easier.

It is not so much as the Dr. but who you have to deal with before/after the Dr. Try scheduling an appt. with pain mgt. what an unprofessional lack of a 'system' they have in Merrick. 1 person answering the phone and scheduling for 8 locations. How stupid is that! Good luck as a patient or a Dr. trying to reach them on the phone. Leaving numerous voicemail messages to which I nor my Dr. ever rec'd a return call. Come on...are you trying to tell me that not one of the messages was received by that office to have the courtesy of calling back? That conglomerate of a Chop Shop, drive by, cattle herding Orthopedic group of Orlin & Cohen should be avoided especially if you are in pain which is the reason you are going there in the first place. They are too big to care about the patient and their health.
