Dr. Joseph Ward Dougherty, MD

I am writing this today out of shame. I wrote the poor review in May of 2019 due to my state of mind at that specific time. I was unable to process information clearly due to an addiction. I was trying to manage it on my own at the time of a medical concern I was trying to take care of by Dr Dougherty. I tried to hide this during the initial diagnostics that was very thoroughly done. Dr Dougherty and his staff went out of their way to send my lab work to multiple locations to make sure of the proper diagnosis. He even requested I see another Dr. for a second opinion which since I was not of clear mind that I made up my own mind not to. I chose to stay with Dr. Dougherty because he seemed to be the first person I met that actually cared. My only regret today is that I would have told him the truth when his nurses asked me all the vital questions. I was just too afraid to be judged. Today I struggle staying clean but somehow I am managing to. I have been an Automotive… Technician for a long time and today, I know how hard it is to diagnose problems with the ever changing technology. Helping my customers diagnose their problems without key information is just as difficult as the medical profession. I hope if your reading these reviews on this site and you come across both of mine that it helps you realize the importance of being completely honest with your doctor no matter who it is. They need this information to properly diagnose you the most accurate way. I also hope if Dr Dougherty is reading this that he accepts my appology. Him and his staff assaulted me while in my most vulnerable state, in the o.r. while under anesthesia. He would never admit it because he isn't man enough.

My son and I have both had Dr. Dougherty operate on us, with great success. I would recommend him as a surgeon.

I found Dr. Dougherty highly competent, persuasive, and personable. He won my trust very quickly.
