Summary
Dr. Elia lived in various places growing up, including Scotland, but from middle school on was raised in Asheville, NC. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2001 with a degree in Biology and Chemistry, and for two years he worked in a Hematology lab at UNC and was published in several journals. He obtained his medical degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 2007. He then ventured to the west coast and completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Oregon Health Sciences University.
Dr. Elia is married and enjoys spending time with his wife, cat, and dog. His interests include spending time with friends, traveling to Asheville, NC to see family, Portland’s wide variety of food, running (Hood to Coast is by far his favorite), reading science fiction, board games, and carpentry.
