Joseph Ryan Grider, DDS
Dr. Grider received his Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University with a major in Biological Sciences. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Grider completed his hospital-based residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital under the direction of Chairman Dr. Robert E. Marx. His residency training included rotations at many hospitals throughout the Miami area including the main Jackson Memorial Hospital in downtown Miami, Jackson South Community Hospital, the University of Miami Hospital and the Miami-VA Hospital. Further, Dr. Grider completed a rotation at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia with a primary emphasis on orthognathic and facial cosmetic surgery. During his final year of residency, Dr. Grider served as Chief Resident in managing both the elective and …trauma services in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His intensive surgical training included management of maxillofacial trauma, dentofacial deformities, tumor and reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafing, dental implants and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Grider was also trained extensively in the medical management of patients and in providing IV sedation and general anesthesia for the comfort of his patients.
Following completion of his residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr Grider joined Sclar Oral pand Implant Dentistry. In his private practice, Dr. Grider is proud to provide full scope oral and maxillofacial surgical services. Dr. Grider's special interests incude orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and complex jaw and dental reconstruction with the use of bone grafts and dental implants.
Dr. Grider maintains admitting and operating privileges at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables.
