Dr. Joseph Dietrich Heyne, MD

Dr. Heyne spent hours at my initial consultation explaining everything and answering questions. He was very patient and spoke to us like we were family or friends...not a number. He also had a surgery plan that made common sense for my situation, and his experience helped me see that. I felt 100% at peace with him for my surgery. The office staff is also friendly, compassionate and responsive. At the hospital, even the pre op nurses had great things to say about him (2 separate nurses, separate visits and departments). One nurse said that he "just knows what to do". My surgery is done and I'm having minimal if any discomfort from lumpectomy. I agree with all positive reviews here and would recommend him to family and friends.

After getting test results, I was anxious to see a doctor. In less than 5 minutes, I was able to get an appointment to see him the next day. He was very thorough and detailed in his explanations of what I have and my options and ordered an MRI to make sure. He asked about me as a person before talking about my medical info. Each staff member was kind and polite, but not patronizing. He gave me confidence that they would be available to help me get through this in the best way possible.

Dr. Heyne is a well-prepared, well-informed, skilled and courteous doctor. At my first meeting, he had already reviewed my pathology report (about my breast cancer), had my mammogram films & pathology report laid out to discuss with me. He allowed me to take my time to ask questions, eased my fears about the treatment recommendation and guided me to find the rest of my medical team. He even cared enough about my case to brainstorm with other members of my medical team when necessary. Also, his office runs like a well-oiled machine and his staff is truly friendly and efficient. What more can you ask for? I would definitely recommend Dr. Heyne to others.

I have known Dr. Heyne for over two years I went to see him after a lump was found in my breast. This was my second time to have breast cancer. From the first time I walked into his office the staff, nurses and Dr. Heyne himself made me feel like I was their only patient.
