Dr. Joseph Jankovic, MD

I know that this doctor appears on numerous publications and is considered a foremost expert in his field. But from where I sat, he seemed poorly prepared, ill-tempered and argumentative. All he did was punt my case to yet another physician - he was of no help at all to this patient.

It’s funny reading the comments here. Yes, Dr. Jankovic isn’t the most polite doctor ever and, yes, most of the appointment is with a fellow. But Dr. Jankovic may very well be the most intelligent doctor in the world for Parkinson’s and it would be a disservice to see someone else if you can see the guy who has discovered 50% of what’s known about the condition and is on the cutting edge of every treatment. If you’re looking for a friend, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for the top doctor in the world for this, congrats.

Had the exact same experience as the review titled: Poor quality medical care. I could just never put the correct words together to describe the experience like they did.

He is quite knowledgeable and is an expert in the field of movement disorders. World renown. Takes a little while to warm up to you but I have seen him over twenty years and would recommend him highly. Wellestablished.

He only cares about money.

My family and I traveled across the country to see Dr. Jankovich, after being referred by the nth neurologist who could not figure out the obviously and admittedly familial condition we experience. The doctor's fellow conducted most of the appointment, taking family health history and making videos of the symptoms we exhibit. She seemed genuinely concerned, then went to get the doctor. He swooped into the room with his diagnosis already in his mind, or was evident by his attitude. The fellow briefly recited the health history to the doctor in front of us, then Dr. Jankovich turned to us and promptly gave us a diagnosis that is in direct contradiction with the definition of the term and with testing conducted by other doctors we have previously seen. When questioned by my family, he abruptly stood up and attempted to flee the room. This provider may have been the top doctor in his prime, however, it seems it is time for him to give up the profession to the younger, more… interested fellows coming up in today's medical schools. He was arrogant, dismissive, and completely lacked any interest in the situation. I can only hope that this man helps others out there in the world, we got nothing from him except what we forced him to give us in his brief appearance in the room. Good luck to all, we hope he treats you better than he did us.

Dr. Jankovic acts if you are taking up his precious time by wanting to see him. I would not recommend him to anyone. You wait for months for a follow up visit and he asks you what test do we have scheduled. Then you find out he has nothing scheduled and you may spend ten minutes with him if you are lucky.

At first glance he is seemingly harmless, but if you question his diagnosis or things that don't quite make sense he is condescending, arrogant, and misogynistic . Anyone who reads this, please stay diligent and advocate for yourself if what this man tells you doesn't make any sense...especially if he's using your information to complete any studies or research publications he has going on at the moment. Get a second opinion and do not mention anything about this man to the doctor you see. Also do not allow him to speak to your other doctors because he might try to convince them that his diagnosis/treatment is the end all be all, and it might influence the quality of your future healthcare and relationship with your doctor. I kept going after all of the trouble he caused and finally my systemic disease was identified via blood-work and consideration of symptoms that he dismissed because they didn't fit his dx. I am sure this is not the experience for everyone, but if you do receive a… dx or treatment that doesn't quite fit or work, please don't give up! Get a second opinion!

The best way I can describe Dr Jankovic is arrogant. My second visit to his office for Parkinson disease was a waste of time. He ask me what test we had scheduled, I told him to tell me. He told me to go down the hall and make an appointment for four months and to come back to that office. I came back to that room and he was gone. When I came back for my third visit he wanted to run a test we had already run. When I told him this he acted if it made him mad. He said I don't think you have Parkinson disease and I want to see you back in four months. I told him I was not coming back.

DR.Jankovic. we been going to him over 20's years. he makes me and billy at easy and makes us comforable. he kind part of our family's.he know billy and i very well.we wouldnt never go to another doctor. exspecially billy he very comforable with and talk to him. so if yu need a great doctor who know ddystonia it's him. he very busy because he the best and he cares sbout all his patients.
