Dr. Joseph Anthony Lagattuta, MD

In 2020 my husband saw Dr. Latuda for hepatitis C and liver issues. My husband had a lot of confidence in him. in July 2020 my husband had a number of pounds of fluid removed from his abdomen. He was on medication and doing very well. In December he had a blood test and the doctor said we’re gonna looks OK. We’ll check it in three months. That would’ve been more than six months from his last appointment. My husband died before he could have his blood test repeated. When I contacted Dr. Lakota prior to my husband staff, he said oh he should’ve been with her liver specialist team at Northwestern or University of Chicago. It was really nice of him to communicate that information to my husband and me. Rather than keep it to himself. He never even had the court courtesy to call and express a condolence or write a note. but rather, I got a reminder about an upcoming appointment the following year. Talk about disappointing and heartbroken. So, I would barely rate Dr like a tutor a one. I… should’ve written this review years ago, but it was just too hard. star

He may be a good doctor but I could never get off of hold to make an appointment. First time I waited 45 minutes. Tried again and gave up after 30 minutes. When I left a message to have them call back nobody called back. Good luck I hope you have better luck than I did.

Quite possibly the worst doctor I've ever been to. Doesn't listen whatsoever. Stay away from this guy.

Dr Lagattuta treated and tested my daughter, who has several health issues that have affected almost every part of her body. We have seen every specialist known. Some gave up. Some agree that she would benefit from having more specialized testing but no one would refer her, help her except Dr L. We have had Drs tell us there is nothing more we can do to help dx or Drs that pass the buck...but not Dr L...Once he has thoroughly tested and diagnosed and r/o any and all causes in his expertise(which he is very very knowledgable) he does what I call a relay...he guides and passes the baton to further investigate your illness. He doesnt give up on you, he hears your concerns. He is extremely smart....he has been a godsend for us. Dr L's nurse Sandy....has a good head on her shoulders, she is smart, quick and helps resolve any questions, needs and works well with Dr L. They make a great team. I would refer Dr L to anyone and everyone who needs help solving, diagnosing gastro issues. … A+++++

Exceptional along with his team, from pre-screening, scheduling, attending nurses, to anesthetic physicians. Professional, caring, understanding, and going the extra mile for patients. Many Thanks to you all.

Listens to what he thinks is right a nice person. Staff is very ignorant

Dr joe is the best!Walk in and feel like one of the family with dr joe and his staff.. Takes the time to explain everything and does not rush out.Thats why the wait time is a little longer because he cares about his patients.#1 in my book.I changed my hmo to a ppo just to go back with him. even if the plan cost me more.He is worth every dollar
