Dr. Joseph Richard Locker, MD

I'm 69 years old and was having issues with both my hips for over 10 years. I did some research and found Dr Locker and met with him about 10 years ago. After looking at my X-rays, he told me that I would eventually need both hips replaced. I wasn't ready yet, so I continued playing golf and softball as well as other activities. In 2022, my left hip hurt so much that I could no longer play golf or softball. I had troubles walking more than a mile. I did tons of research on orthopedic doctors across the country using various techniques. I finally chose Dr Locker for anterior total hip replacement. I was in good enough shape to do the outpatient surgery. I went in at 11am and was home by 5pm the same day. I was able to walk, albeit gingerly, the next day without a cane or walker. I slowly started walking and within a couple weeks, I was walking a mile without any pain. It's been 6 months and I can play softball, golf and pretty much everything else that I used to do. I last… met with Dr Locker on 9/1/23 and he said that I could resume most activities right away. Also, he said that I could return to playing travel softball later this fall. His warning to me was "to listen to my body", otherwise go back to all activities that I was doing before. He didn't mention my right hip, but if I need surgery on it, it will be with Dr Locker. My only regret was waiting an extra year to get the surgery done and returning to my normal activities!

Was seen in a timely manner, everyone very professional. Dr Locker explained procedure, and process. I am ready to be done with knee pain, so I have much confidence.

I was very very satisfied with my office visit. The staff were great. I already had met Dr Locker as my husband is a patient there and I've been in to see Doctor with him. I was caught off guard as the diagnosis wasn't what I expected. So the doctor told me what he felt it was and now I have a question or two that I didn't think of at the time!!

Dr. Locker took his time while evaluating our son. He showed true concern and compassion as our son is dealing with a torn ACL. His examination and diagnosis were right on and we are thankful he was there for us.

Dr. Locker and his staff were prompt, efficient, courteous, kind, understanding and very helpful with providing the information I needed and requested re: total hip replacement surgery.

The appointment was on time, staff were pleasant and professional. Dr. Locker reviewed results and the next step in my treatment process and provided information on the procedure / expectations. He answered all my questions to satisfaction. Highly recommend.

Just met with Dr. Locker in an initial interview to discuss my knee issues. He had a good team gathering medical information and organizing the meeting. Dr. Locker was very professional and provided me with a brief and understandable summary of my medical AL status and what he could do to help me if I chose to do so. I will certainly consider asking him to do knee replacements when the time is right.

Seen once by a PA, it’s been 5 weeks, no word from him. Still can’t walk, terrible communication
