Dr. Sofia Elisa Matta

Dr Matta had my faith in him shattered when he kept mistaking me for someone else and seemed to forget me each visit.

Cruel, dismissive, and contemptuous. Unpleasant and rude.

Doctor was curt and rude. He seemed unwilling to network with my therapist and primary physician. He seemed "put off" that I asked questions about terms that he used, as if he thought I should simply shut up and do as I was told. He made a "diagnosis" after spending about 10-15 minutes with me. He did not do an intake session.

Good doc. Listens very well and didn't rush the visit. actually the visit lasted 2hours. Would definitely recommend to others. not the most appealing location and is a rehab clinic.

Would not listen to what I had to talk about.

My opinion of Dr. Matta is one of arrogance and attitude. He asks s questions that are shallow and then makes you feel that your answer is too shallow. He made me feel like I did not know what reality was. Had no bedside manners.

Dr. Matta was rude and arrogant spending more time checking his watch than talking to me. I felt ignored and worse, insulted by his flippant remarks at the end of our sessions. I continued to see Dr. Matta until I realized that it was not helping and my current psychiatrist has helped me to realize how awful Dr. Matta really was.

After several weeks of trying to get an appointment at this facility I wanted to talk to the doctor directly about the medications I was taking and what protocols were available in withdrawing from the medications. I was shuffled around by staff members who obtained my prescription profile from the state of Louisiana. I was enrolled in pain management for many years for multiple orthopaedic disorders. This showed up on my prescription profile. I was asked if I wanted more pain killers. I replied, "No". I was then asked if I had fibromyalgia; I answered "No." I then knew that the staff hadn't even looked at the records they had requested of me.At that point I was sent back to the waiting room and a few minutes later they asked me to submit a urine sample. I complied. The nurse took the sample with no gloves. I returned to the waiting room again. I waited another 20 minutes then asked, "Will I be talking to the doctor today?" After 20 minutes more I left in disgust. These people… had no interest in helping me. They had a preconceived notion of my condition, "Just another addict." Total fees $870.00 ($425.00 was for a cancellation due to a family emergency.) Not once during the visit did I get to see the doctor but they took it upon themselves to send my prescription profile to all of the pharmacies and doctors I had seen over the previous 18 months. The profile was misleading; at first glance you would think I was getting narcotic medication from 5 different physicians. I would suggest to anyone seeking help for any type of addiction problem to run(not walk) from this clinic. I was lucky enough to find a wonderful physician and enroll in an effective treatment program.
