Two Days Ago, Nov. 8, 2018, Dr. Mayo performed on Me, A Total Hip-Joint Replacement on the Left Leg ! The Last Thing in My Memory, BEFORE " I, Went Out ", Was A Funny Quip by Dr. Mayo !!! I, Woke Up, in the Int. Care Room, I Think, I was about 3 Hrs. later, and SOON, I was in My Room ! Kudos, too, to the St. Jude Medical Staff !!! Per Dr. Mayo's Instructions, They Had Me WALKING, the SAME Afternoon. I, stayed at St. Jude ONLY Overnight. On A Scale of 0 to 10, My Pain Level Ranged from 0 to 2. To SAVE Causing Additional, Emotional, Physical, and Mental Fatigue to My Wife, I, elected to go to A Rehabilitation and Care Center, before returning to Our Ground Level Home ! Anthony G. Born with hip deformity. Problem solved with caring expertise by Dr. Mayo when I was 50. I cannot say enough good things about him and his ability to replace hips leaving me with a pain free gait. I feel like I am 20 again!

Smart, direct, took care of the business of helping me walk smoothly. And he was sweet too

First appointment and stated surgery was required, When I asked pointed questions, felt they were "danced" around. I still don't know what this surgery entails - pros/cons of surgery, recovery time and what that entails, any restrictions post-surgery, type of device used in the surgery. He has a good bedside manner, but after 20 minutes, nurse told him he had other pts and my questions were not answered. I requested an injection and it was given. He was great throughout the appt as far as funny, but I did not feel I received enough information to make a decision on surgery. I did not mind the wait, but felt that I was rushed when I got to see him and talk with him about surgery.

Outstanding surgeon. Very attentive, experienced, intelligent, witty and exceptional bedside manner. Highly recommended.

Dr. Mayo is a very highly respected orthopedic surgeon in this area and for good reason. He is meticulous, caring, and highly skilled. Many friends are patients of his and i have seen the results of knee, shoulder, back surgeries that he has performed. I am planning 2 hand surgeries and one foot surgery and am so grateful and relieved that it will be in his competent hands. I happen to really appreciate his bed side manner and sense of humor. He is a realist when it comes to the responsibility of each patient taking an active part in doing all that we can to remain strong as we age. It cannot be easy for a physician to hear all day of the pain his patients present to him. However, I think he does a great balancing act of concern while helping his patients stay positive with a light-hearted comment here and there. Note: I left the "follow-up" rating blank because I have not yet had my surgeries , but i have had treatment by him in his office for both hands and my back which… did not require him to follow up. But I was very pleased with everything about his care. Also, Holly in his office is exceptional: knowledgeable, warm, professional. Very competent.

I have had three family members treated by Dr. Mayo and all had such favorable outcomes. Dr Mayo did hip surgery on my 85 year old mother who recuperated fast. My oldest son came to him with what another surgeon told him he needed surgery for a sports injury and Dr. mayo disareed and said he would heal. He did !! My youngest son came to him with xrays from a foot wakeboard accident of a broken foot of which a previous Dr. said it was not broken. Dr Mayo assessed him and saw the break that the other doctor didnt and put him in a cast. All have healed without any problems. i recently hurt my foot and took xrays that the ER doctor said were without incident and Dr Mayo saw the chipped bone that they missed.I highly recommend him. Thank You!

I have never met a doctor who is so willing to spend time with his patients in order to get to know them. His manner is open and engaging with a great sense of humor. I have had three orthopaedic surgeries by him with never a problem. I would recommend him to everyone who is in need of an orthopedic surgeon. You won;t be disappointed.

18 years ago Dr. Mayo fixed a blown disc in my back where no one else could even figure out whart caused my pain....just kept pumping me with pain and muscle relaxer pills! Me pushed for what was best for ME to the insurance company and won! Thank you...I will always be grateful to you and send others to you often!!!!!
