After a failed procedure (by another surgeon), I was so appreciative to find Dr. Payne. He has a very patient, caring, and genuine bedside manner. Although quite knowledgeable and skilled, he is humble and explains clearly the risk factors involved in needed surgeries. I had experienced pain for more than one year due to my condition, and was worried I'd have to live this way forever. However, after the repeat surgery performed by Dr. Payne, my life has improved immeasurably. The post-surgery care I received was as excellent as the pre-surgery consultations. I am so grateful everyday to no longer hurt and to have had such a skilled, kind surgeon as Dr. Payne. I highly recommend him.

Please get a second opinion!!!! I can not stress that enough. My husband at 50 years old will live with a colostomy the rest of his life.He made the surgery sound so simple and my husband nearly died 7 days after surgery. It has been 15 months and he is still suffering from ALL the complications from his surgery.He will walk away from you when things go wrong. It has been a nightmare for us.

Never called once to see how my husband was doing after 3 surgerys. went out of town way to much after every surgery even after he was put in ICU. I thought I trusted him so much and everyday I have to ask myself why we didn't talk to other doctors. Our lives have changed forever. We had to sell our home near the beach and move away from the area. We always dreamed of retiring at the beach and it has been all taken away from us. I will never not like him because I am a forgiving person but I will never understand how he could just walk away without ONE phone call to just see how he is doing. May God Bless Him!
