Great experience with Dr Poteria. Surgery went well and recovery is on going. I appreciate the information I receive from him. This helps someone without medical experience be part of their own health, and make informed decisions.

A hysterectomy with a prolapse repair is NOT an outpatient procedure/surgery. To add insult with injury with NO pain medication!! Recovery was brutal to say the least. Dr Portera did not know how to handle the complications that occurred during & after my surgery. His denial to accept the reality of a serious complication and literally refuse to repair what is wrong has forced me to find another doctor & start all over AGAIN.

Dr Portera doesn’t want his patients to stay in the hospital after surgery because he’s too lazy to go see them. He wants them to come to his office the day after surgery. I had to hire someone to take care of me at home when I should have been in the hospital for at least two nights. He is a hard-hearted doctor who has no feelings for his patients.

Chris Portera is arrogant and rude and unfeeling. To do a hysterectomy plus a bladder tack on an outpatient basis is in humane. I was blessed out for staying one night in the hospital. I told his nurse how he talked to me the next morning and then she became as rude as he is. Needless to say I will not go back to that office. There are better human beings who are also great doctors. Portera is not one of them.

Dr. Portera is highly skilled and knowledgeable, but lacks sadly in the bedside manner. His lack of empathy and dismissive attitude keep him from being a truly effective physician. I have waited for over an hour for an appointment at his office and, when I showed distress over a diagnosis, he was extremely cold and told me it was not that big a deal. I have since switched doctors.

Dr Portera performed my partial hysterectomy last year. Outstanding job, quick recovery. Wonderful doctor! Very kind and great staff. Always very helpful and fast to respond to any questions. I definitely recommend to friends and family.

I go to the Gunbarrel Office and the staff has been friendly and has put me at ease. At my last visit Dr. Portera was very easy to talk to and answered my questions. He performed my surgery two years ago and I couldn't have asked for more. He did an excellent job.

Dr. Portera was responsive to my concerns and questions. I am thankful to have had him as my surgeon and would highly recommend him. I truly feel that he gave me my normal life back and I am very grateful. His staff is wonderful!

If a higher score had been possible I would have given it. I was very pleased not only at my treatment but the personal follow up. And I am doing way better than I expected but dr. Portera was right on the money about everything that would happen so I was very informed. I really appreciate the staff and dr. Portera
