Dr. Joseph Salama, MD

Let me just say… he should retire soon! He is the most arrogant, rude ‘doctor’ I have ever encountered. He did not listen to a word I said. He acted like I was bothering him. He did not want to hear nor see, proof that what I was saying is true… even though it was right in front of his face. Maybe my complaint was too petty for him, wasn’t going to make a lot of money off me. Either way, he is a arrogant old man. I went to Dr. Christopher Cooke, at DMC in Novi, who listened to me, took his time and thoroughly examined me. And yep, I had exactly what I’d been trying to tell Mr. Salama… he’s not worthy of the title “Dr.” Do yourself a favor, retire with what little face you have left!

Dr. Salama and his staff are wonderful.... I went to Dr. Salama last week and I can personally say it was the best experience I have had with a physician in a long time. Asher the assistant is so kind and thoughtful. He greeted me and took me to a room. When i tell him about symptoms he take his time and listen to me thoughtfully. He is a very kind young man who will make a great doctor one day Then Dr. Salama came in after Asher. Dr. Salama really listened to me and anyone can tell that he has years and years of experience under his belt. He relieved my knee pain and explained everything about my diagnosis and treatment in a way that was easier to understand. He is the best doctor I have had in long time. Love dr salama and staff!! Go to him!!!

Dr. Salama was very unprofessional . Upon being asked whether he thinks the pain in my arm is not related to my shoulder because the medication he had given me was not working , he went on for 10 mins insulting and verbally attacking me to the point that he said if I am not a doctor i should not question anything and If I want to know I should go to medical school . He was almost to the point of yelling. I came out of his office in tears not from the pain but from his behaviour. I would not recommend him to anyone.

when i entered the office I was greeted by a very nice Staff, Marcus with a K, Kimberly. Kelly, and Taholina, . I had the normal wait time, Dr. Joseph Salama, was very nice , Checked me out, asked questions and listened to my concerns, I was treated for my leg, which had been a problem for sometime. I wish I had went sooner. feeling better than I have in such a long time. Linda

I first met Dr. Salama when he treated me for a birth defect in my left hip. When my hip gave out on the stairs at work, Dr. Salama saw me immediately and squeezed me into the surgery schedule right away, although it was a very busy holiday season. When my right knee gave out a few years later, he did a wonderful job repairing it. Dr. Salama is kind, compassionate, and an attentive listener who remembers everything I tell him with amazing recall. I would not have been able to continue working without him.

I had no use of my arm and he thought I was faking it. I went to another surgeon and found I had a torn rotator cuff, bursitis, bone spurs,, and a torn bicep tendon. He was so degrading and his staff was not at all compassionate. I would recommend finding a new doctor!

Professional and kind, accurate diagnosis and treatment.

I liked him from the first moment I met him. Very knowledgeable about what I was having a problem with and advised me upfront as to what has to be done to cure the problem. Told me all the pros and cons and then said to wait and talk it over with my husband and see him again with an answer. Very caring and concerned doctor.

I have never left a doctor's appointment so let down and hurt. I came to him in dire need of help and was told that there's no way my injury was as bad as I claimed. After going to a different doctor, my condition was much worse than suspected and Dr. Salama's negligence didn't support the cause whatsoever. He lacks compassion and is dismissive with what you have to say. I would avoid at all costs. He is a waste of time.
