Dr. Joseph Arnold Silhavy, MD

Dr. Silhavy & his wife Dr. Santos are wonderful pediatricians!! If they would fire their ENTIRE office staff, they would have much more success. My 2 sisters have both pulled their children from this office & I have just pulled my 2 ALL BECAUSE OF THE OFFICE STAFF. They are rude, do not know what they are doing & need to go through extensive training. The girl that schedules appointment scheduled my son an appt 4 months in advance for scoliosis testing, which in the meantime I had my daughter & in turn took her to that same office so they would have the same ped. The week before my sons appt, I get a call that they cannot see my son because when we had moved away, his records were transferred to another ped. (which i exp. we had just moved back in the area when i originally set appt). Therefore, i wasted 4 months & took my daughter there.Then, her 6 mnths shots were not schdld on time & she missed her 3rd dose of Roto-tec. I have clld multiple x's requesting cb from dr but never rcvd.

Dr. Joe and his wife are both really great drs, very kind, and very precise when we are able to get in to see them. I say this because the office staff is very rude, everytime I call its like I have to make my case before the appointment for my son would even be considered. They have made errors in the scripts being called in to the pharmacy. Many times I have to call multiple times to get things handled. There was once that they called a dosage in instead of 2.0ml, they called in .01ml to the pharmacy, never returned my call after I left a message. After hours I called the on call dr. left a msg for him as an emergency since he never answers and still waited nearly 2 hrs for a return call after leaving 3 voice messages. If we could directly call the dr I would give him 10 stars if I could, but getting to him is like fighting dragons gaurding the castle.

I am a new mom and I knew nothing about chosing a pediatrician. I was referred to Dr. Silhavy from a girlfriend and could not have made a better choice. He and his wife are excellent, caring doctors and their work is appreciated!
