Dr. Joseph W. Turnipseed, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Turnipseed from 2003 until 2022 . In 2006 he implanted a Medtronic II Pain Pump into my body . It was filled with an extremely strong medication. It was nothing short of a miracle until 2014 then over the next year and a half I started getting worse and worse to the point that by the end of 2015 . I was just as bad off as I was before I had got my pump . I did all kind of test but nothing had changed or moved .If you have a pump you don't dare let it run out because you could die from a under dose just as easy as a overdose. In 2022 I was to ill to go in for my refill. when my medicine ran out nothing happened. This was impossible to happen. I didn't have the right medicine in my pump. That's when I come to the realization that my medicine was being hijacked .I have no doubt in my mind 2014 was the starting point for this evil act .

I have been with him since he started his business and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. He knows what he’s doing and cares highly for his patients. I have grown to think of him as a very close friend. Since I have known him he has continued his education so that he can do more things without you having to go to another doctor to do them. I can’t see anyone not liking and trusting him, I know I do and always will.

I like Dr. T. I think that people expect their Drs. to be a bit stuffy. Dr. T. is not. He listened to me and I felt able to communicate with him. I felt he listened so he could determine where he could help me specifically. I believe he is a good , kind caring Dr. He has done his best to help me.

Does not return calls, disregards what you tell him, no followup, acts as if patient is imposition on his time

Showed up to our 7am appointment an hour and a half late and has the audacity to be completely and utterly rude to my mother and I. Completely Unprofessional.

I had been seeing Dr Turnipseed for over 10 years. There was a shake down in Baton Rouge concerning doctors who were handing our pain meds like candy. He got scared and had his PA tell me he was no longer going to prescribe my long lasting pain meds and give me Percocet only. There was no way just Percocet could handle my pain since I was already taking Percocet plus my long lasting medicine and it was barely keeping my pain level at a 6. That plus he was going to stop me cold turkey! I guess dr Turnipseed had something to worry about and was quilty of something because he did the same thing to other patients. I guess greed had gotten the best of him and he was now caught with his hand in the cookie jar AVOID DR TURNIPSEED or he will take as much money from you as he can while apparently doing dirty jobs on the side

I've been his patient for several years. I've always stuck to the contract. Whenever I see him now it's less than a minute and he's preoccupied, uses profanity, talks at you instead of to you. When I told him I had a fall from leg weakness he said I should crawl.

I am currently seeing him. Had to reschedule an appt and could not get in to see him until 3 weeks later. Called everyday to see if I could be placed in a waiting list to be seen sooner. Neither the nurse nor the Janise person seemed to care about my pain. Finally got to see Him. Waited over an hour for him to spend 2â?£ minutes with me!! Do they care????

I've only gone to him twice because he wanted me to come in every 2 weeks for a two week(30) supply of Percocet 7.5. I have 7 ruptured discs. He's a joke. And to deal with his girl Friday was a bigger joke. Literally. But they love that money you pay when you sign in. The only good thing about him is he's almost old enough to retire.

Was discharged because I disliked being on heavy pain meds. They never explain the "RULES" for pain meds. I never taken long term medication. Patches would fall off on the box they had 800 and they told you if your patch falls off flush them. No one told me you end up short and if you do too bad. If you see him DO NOT EVER question him because he thinks he is smarter than you. He was smarted than me, but I hated the though of drugs.
