Dr. Joseph Valenti

I think Dr. Valenti is a great OB/GYN. I have seen him for over 5 years for different procedures, and he has made the most painful ones less awful by his wonderful bedside manner. I put my full faith and trust in him as a doctor.

Best office/best doctor. He saved the life of myself and baby. If not for Dr Valenti I would not be here. I had a ruptured uterus, separated placenta, and bladder ripped in half. Thanks to Dr Valenti and his excellent care, along with the entire team that assisted, I am here still and so is my sweet boy. Neither of us with lasting effects. I will never see another OB/GYN

Dr. Valenti ended up being my doctor when I delivered my son because the midwife I was supposed to have was out sick. Everything you hear about doctors prioritizing their own time and money above patient care is true with Dr. Valenti. He pushed every intervention on me despite me fighting it and made me feel like I was putting my baby at risk by even questioning it: breaking my water, pushing pitocin as much as possible, heavily medicating, and after just two hours laboring with him, he insisted that a c-section was necessary because he had broken my water and that puts the baby at risk (read- the baby would not have been at risk until 24 hours). He literally woke me up from sleeping, while my husband was not in the room, with his entire there already in scrubs and face masks saying that it was time to do a c-section, despite there being absolutely no medical emergency. When I told Dr. Valenti I needed to talk to my husband first, he said, "You need to hurry up so we can do this." When… I told him I wanted to call my midwife and ask what she thought first, he said, "You're under my care now. You don't need to talk to your midwife- she's not here. You need to do what I'm telling you because my whole team is waiting." I felt so pressured and doubted myself. The reality seems to be that he just wanted to do a surgery and be out of the hospital before midnight. Our son was born at 11:55 pm, and I was too drugged up to get to see it. Afterward he was arrogant and rude, only coming by to say that he's done hundreds of c-sections and that I should've just gone with what he said to begin with. This is an awful doctor who needs to review his Hippocratic Oath.

A false diagnosis cost me $3,000 out of pocket for tests that I really could not afford, not to mention how absolutely terrified I was with the diagnosis! Also, BCBS was charged over $25,000 in lab tests which included tests for conditions I don’t have and false results. The biligerant doctor Valenti insisted it was normal to have such extreme differences in blood test results once I have them re-done from a different doctor/lab. Valenti also insisted the crazy costs of $27,000 in lab costs were normal! It took me over a year to clean up this mess and I could only accomplish with the aid of my State Representative who saw to it that the Texas Department of Insurance did its job. Without Tan Parker’s office I would still be dealing with this situation because it seems morals and decency are rare these days. No reimbursement for my out-of-pocket $3000 was ever offered. Shame on Doc, Caring (ha) for Women and Privia! Shame on BCBS for keeping them in network after this fiasco. BCBS’s… network is the only reason I went to Caring for Women in the first place.

Patient abandonment. Delivered our son and quit the hospital the following day. Expected my wife to be all ok, but she ended up spending 16 days in the hospital with complications. He never returned. Only sent associates who didn’t know my wife at all. He was too prideful in his stance against the hospital that he left his only patient there alone. Do not trust this man.

I have never felt as uncomfortable as I have with him. If I tell you I am not on any sort of prescription medication...then I am not. In fact I typical visit a doctor once a year when my seasonal allergies are so bad I need a steroid shot to get them under control. I do the maintenance visits. I actually try to live life without medication because side effects can be twice as bad as the benefits. I am getting to a point where I am just going to start scheduling my pap smear with the nurse practioner at my md's office. She is by far the most polite doctor I have dealt with in a long time.

Beyond bad. I know doctor's often have a god complex, but his is ridiculous. He started off nice and seemed like a great doctor, however, he dramatically changed. He refused to work with me on any compromise and yelled at my family members in the waiting room while I was being prepped He woke me up after surgery waited awhile and during this time pain was understandably becoming worse, and when I started to cry because of the pain he told the nurse and anesthesiologist to not give me anything till I stopped crying despite their objections and was getting mad at me the whole time instead. I've had the same surgery before with a different doctor and none of this occurred. DO NOT GO SEE HIM!

Originally scheduled for a long endoscopic procedure with another surgeon - who turned out to be completely uninterested in what I wanted for my procedure and body. I was forced to find another surgeon, and, happily, I found Joe Valenti. He's loud (and medically conservative - I think), but you CAN have a real conversation with him about YOUR preferences. I wonder if my out come woudl have been as good, if I'd had the other surgeon? I'm SO glad I didn't.
