Dr. Joseph Victor Vernace, MD

Unbelievable. Dr. Vernace never greeted me. He was rude and arrogant. Gave no eye contact. Treated me as a "case" and not a human being. Would not explain diagnosis and surgery that he recommended. Basically said he is the expert and I should respect his findings. Left room without saying thanks or good-bye. Also, his staff is as rude as he.

Zero bedside manner!! Treated me as if I did not matter. Never even introduced himself when he entered examining room. Would not discuss nor explain to me the surgery he recommended. Rushed me out of the examining room. Office staff was extremely unfriendly and rude. Very long wait to see him- beyond scheduled appointment time. Of course, I would never go back and do not recommend him for anyone.

Waited 2 hours for scheduled appt.. Was told he was called to a meeting. Waiting room was full of patients. Receptionist told me that he only allows 10 minutes per patient visit. When I was in examining room, a man entered & did not say hello or introduce himself. I had no idea he was Dr. Vernace. He ignored me & spoke with assistant who was on computer looking at my X-rays. He rushed me out cause he said I did not need surgery. Would not discuss my issues with me. He is all about the money & no bedside manner. Go elsewhere.

He assured me that the Otis knee would fit properly, however after surgery my entire leg from my hip to my toes were black and blue and I was in severe pain. When I asked him post surgery what happened, he stated that the Otis knee wouldn't fit properly and he had to do a release procedure which caused a lot of internal bleeding and eventually internal scarring. I can't rotate my knees going down steps any longer and my knee doesn't bend more than 90 degrees. I had my other knee replaced by a different orthopedist, who didn't have any trouble fitting my knee with a traditional knee. In addition, he doesn't take the time to fully explain himself and I always felt rushed with him.

Dr. V seems real caring and I'm sure he has the credentials but, my sister got hip replacement and would up in serious pain and messed alignment. Doc never called back and buried the whole matter - we are devastated he goes to our country club.

The doc is well recommended. Has the credentials. Dr. V just rushes everybody and everything. The true measure of great Doctor, in my circle of professionals and society, is if he happens to make a mistake (Docs are humans) how well does he respond to the needs of the hurting patient??

Dr. Vernace replaced both knees for me in 2015, and replaced my right hip in Oct 2018. He is a fine surgeon with outstanding surgical technique and attention to detail. I trust him completely. I believe him to be honest and forthright - he tells you what he can do and what he can't do. I have recovered nicely from both operations and have no regrets from being a patient of Dr. Vernace. His office staff is friendly and competent. His 2 PA's are technically sound and very experienced.

Dr. Verance used have good intentions and solid skills but, he mainly in business to make money. If you a complication, such as total dysfunctional limb or infection- he'll blow you off and bury your compliant. He hides behind has staff as just moves on to the next pay check/new patients. He can't possibly manage care all these new patients his billing is astronomical - well above industry standard. His rush surgical shortcuts have caused great pain in my family and friends my Mom is still handicapped suffering today -3 years later. Joe please slow down and be the Doctor you used to be and care - even if it costs you a couple of bucks. How much is enough??

De, Vernance fixed my Grandmother's hip but he failed to tale personal approach. She needed TLC

My order of treatment has been the following: 1 - hip replacement, 1 - shoulder surgery, bilateral knee replacement, and all of the necessary post op rehab for each. Each incident was addressed correctly and I am fully functional and pain free. I think that is the description of complete satisfaction.
