Dr. Joseph Beryl Zorn, MD

Nice person; extremely shy. Gentle. Honest. Kind. Accurate. Remembers you when he sees you. He is very good about giving referrals to specialists. Is wIlling to explain what he is doing, and why. Explanations are clear, and he listens well.Has a lot of patients, so he has to work fast; however, he is thorough and will spend as much time as he can with you. The office staff are excellent at Harvard Vanguard Associates.

I have been sick for about a year, in and out of the emergency room for multiple ailements over the last 6 months, it was only after I sought medical help in RI that I was diagnosed with lyme disease and a co-infection -- the costs of which I paid for out of pocket. Dr. Zorn could not accept the fact that my symtoms were something real and not just stress induced. Even when I told him that my younger brother had lyme and my symtoms mirrored his, he dismissed the notion. I wanted referrals to a neurologist and never got one. I nearly lost my job and now have bacteria that has infected my auditory system, the damage of which is probably permanent. His answer, and the other doctors in his practice, was to throw pills at me, most of which I never took. I am so disgusted right now -- with him for not listening and myself for not seeking alternative medical help sooner.

This doctor didn't address or document the reason I came in. He looked for tests I was behind on and ways to bill my insurance company. It was frustrating when I followed up and he had no clue and was way off in regard to my reason for being there.

Dr. Zorn and his office have terribke follow-up to patients concerns and problems. They would rather give out medications instead of finding the cause of a problem. They refuse to give out referrals when necessary and the patient has to beg for referrals. They rather the 15 dollar copay instead of getting patients help from a specialist. The staff is unfriendly and they do not return phone calls. I would not recommend dr. zorn or harvard vanguard to anyone even if they were the last place to seek medical advice. we are leaving the practice and i would not suggest anyone take this doctor on as their primary care. Unless they want to be medicated and not followed up with while on heavy medications
