Dr. Joshua Lawrence Cohen, MD

Dr. Joshua Cohen is an adult psychiatrist, serves as Head of Data Science at Options MD, and is a part-time Volunteer Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco. He has extensive experience with treatment-resistant depression, as well as conducting research on new treatment strategies. As Option MD's Head of Data Science, Dr. Cohen is developing patient assessment tools to more accurately diagnose patients, predict side effects, identify personalized treatment plans for patients, and track symptoms and recovery over time. Before joining Options MD, Dr. Cohen was on faculty at the University of California San Francisco where he saw patients in their Specialty Depression and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Clinics. He also conducted clinical trials testing novel neuromodulation technologies for the treatment of depression. Dr. Cohen completed his General Psychiatry Residency Training at the University of California San Francisco and served as Chief Resident for …Research. Dr. Cohen has a great deal of experience using a wide variety of psychopharmacological, behavioral, and interventional approaches, including the most cutting-edge treatments for depression, such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Ketamine. He works with patients to help identify root causes of mental distress and provide treatment that addresses these root causes directly.
