Dr. Joshua Myer Karp, MD

Sorry to say that this Dr has an awful bedside manner. To tell a patient they do not need the medications they have been prescribed for years for their condition, and to imply I am looking for narcotics to fix my problem is outrageous. I have a chronic illness and high blood pressure. Just stood and blasted me about narcotics, how I shouldn’t t be treated with them, he was rearranging my medication without even knowing what was happening. Never mentioned the fact my blood pressure was 202/111 and how to address it before I had stroke. Stated I had no reason to be in the hospital for my “condition” and could leave. Can’t say I’m comfortable leaving with a blood pressure that high. Instead of leaving and risking a stroke, I filed complaints, and was able to switch to a Dr who listens, cares, and has helped tremendously. My sister had to come and even speak to management about Dr Karp and his ignorance. My suggestion is stay away from this guy. Seems to judge before knowing and clearly… doesn’t read a patients chart. He made me extremely uncomfortable to the point I was hysterical crying and needed to calm down and think of a new plan for myself quickly and showed no interest in anything I wanted to say or discuss. Stay away from this guy total jerk
