worst experience with a doctor. Arrogant and self absorbed. I was to have asleep test, in three weeks from appointment, and on a waiting list fro sooner. Waited 4 day and no call for the appointment, call left a message and no call back. Done with this facility.

I waited a week to calm down and think about this before I wrote a review and now that I have if I could have given him a '0' I would have. I found him to be arrogant, unprepared, lacking in both knowledge and manners and boarding on reckless. I would recommend that no one ever subject themselves to this man.

Dr Portnoy is one of the best doctors I have been to in me 62 years. I was placed on oxygen 24/7 for 6 years. I changed insurance and went to see Dr Portnoy. He took the time to listen to my situation, run detailed tests, find out what was my issue, and treated me so that I have been oxygen free for one year and beyond.

Great listener, took lots of time to explain. Fun, engaging personality.

Dr. Portnoy is very kind and goes out of his way to make sure his patients are taken care.

I met Dr Portnoy when I was a patient in Littleton Adventist Hospital. I was very ill and had been very happy with my other doctors. Please know that I have spent much of my life in hospitals, either as a patient, or as the caregiver of 3 close family members as their health failed. I have no patience for medical personnel who forget that even though sick, a person deserves respect - just as they do. The first time he walked into my patient room, he started rattling off questions and I was expected to answer, without taking a breath. So far, as a patient with lung disease, this was not a good first impression. I told him to take a breathe, sit down in the chair next to my bed, and realize there was another human being in the bed he was ordering to answer questions. That time, he did. At my first out patient appointment in his office, I had terrible swelling that was scarIng me badly. When I asked him what might be causing it, his exact words were, "I don't know, Fibromyalgia doesn't… cause swelling. For all I know, you could have pulmonary adema, and could stroke out any minute. Maybe you should see your rheumatologist." Seriously? Let me ask you, if my pulmonalogist suggest I have pulmonary adema, why would he send me to a rheumatologist? Maybe a cardiac physician - certainly not a rheumatologist. And in general, who the heck says something like that to a patient?! He was more interested in telling me what he and his girlfriend's favorite drink is than in treating me. I walked put his office and never looked back. His staff however, have continued to call me, asking when I was going to have the several, expensive, procedures he recommended. Really? The most I could do with his advice was try ordering his "latest favorite drink" the next time I visit a bar. Needless to say, I will not pay Dr Portnoy again for his terrible bed side manner, his bad advice, or his arrogant attitude. My advice - look quickly for a professional, compassionate pulmonalogist who isn't quite so concerned with his appearance, and drinking habits, and who actually cares about his patients and his practice. Good luck to you, there are good ones out there. You don't have to suffer this attitude, for decent health care.

Excellent diagnostician + compassionate care + great network with other specialists + very dedicated to his patients and is not satisfied until the job is done correctly + he is our family hero!

Dr. Portnoy was asking us if he should pull the trach. How bad is that? He is the Dr. Very poor bedside manner. Very arrogant.

Went with the complaint of Shortness of Breath. Had many expensive tests and was never told why I was Short of Breath. Just told the tests look good"

I liked that he was honest with me and related to me personally.
