Dr. Joshua Dan Whorton, MD

Dr. Whorton comes across as a very caring doctor until he stopped accepting my insurance. At that point I say someone at DDSI (currently taking my insurance) one time for a colonoscopy and was unhappy with the impersonal way I was treated. I had the colonoscopy records sent to Dr. Whorton’s office since my husband and I decided we would suck up the additional cost for better treatment. I then called his office for a follow up and was told the office policy is that if you are ever seen by any other GI for any reason, you can not return. Would have been nice to have at least been warned of this before I considered the colonoscopy with another group. I asked to receive this policy in writing and never received it. BTW, my husband who is an active patient (I hope??) called because he thought he had an ulcer was told that if he was not scheduling for a colonoscopy he could not be seen. He asked to speak with Dr. Whorton and was not allowed. Not sure what’s going on there but do no harm… treatment is no longer the policy. FYI, he was in the middle of treating me for a perforated diverticulitis. Not so cool.

Dr Whorton is a very caring Dr, when you leave his office, you know whats going on. He works very hard for you and makes sure your questions are answered. I'm very glad I found Dr. Whorton.

Excellent bedside manner he really cares about his patients. He listens and answers all questions clearly without talking down to his patients. Wonderful doctor that really cares FIVE STAR all the way!!!

I love Dr. Whorton. He's so kind and caring and always makes me feel comfortable. He actually listens to what my problems are and makes sure that I know that he wants to know if my symptoms are changing and what's going on with me. One of the best doctors I have.

Dr. Whorton is very caring and kind. I was not nervous being in his office at all. I felt he really listened and was helpful with his diagnosis.
