Dr. Joyce I Ross, MD

Is there a star less than one? Please someone tell me she’s gone and no longer practicing. Shes very dangerous and even more ignorant! Honestly there sadly seems to be something very wrong with her. The absolute worst experience with a professional I’ve ever had!

My son's therapist recommended her for a psyciatrist and I wish I read these words as well. She was a bit condensending at times especially when my son was clingy with me but our apts were virtual so we made do. This past May, there was a serious issue with my son and I requested a time to talk to her. She told me to have his therapist call her and my therapist did and Dr. Ross never called back. I gave her a month then I canceled and found a new psychratist. Wish I read these reviews first.

Avoid Dr. Ross at all costs, especially if you are seeking care for an impressionable child or adolescent. I was brought to Dr. Ross as a young teen, and being the first mental health professional I ever saw, was terrified of seeking any other treatment after that due to the fact that I left her office in tears every appointment. I was belittled and criticized, and was even told that my social anxiety was "my own fault" because I "didn't try hard enough to make friends". She also told my (rightfully concerned) mother to "stop playing doctor" when she expressed that she may seek a second opinion for me. I have just recently gotten the courage to go see a new mental health professional, now in my 20s, because of the impression Dr. Ross left on me and my perception of mental health doctors.

My experience with Dr. Ross has been very positive. I recently moved to the area and had very traumatic experience with other Doctors in the area. I found Dr. Ross very receptive to my opinions regarding withdrawal from my meds and utilizing a workable treatment plan. I’m very grateful for her expertise

My experience of Dr. Ross was not a positive one. She did not listen well and then Seemed to make decisions based on misinformation. She also mischaracterized conversations with other therapists and doctors with whom she spoke. One of my doctors indicated that Dr. Ross characterized their consultation with exactly the opposite of what my doctor said. This type of poor listening can injure patients both emotionally and physically, especially since she prescribes controlled substances. She comes across as judgmental and does not listen. She seems to make snap decisions. And, she charges almost twice the going rate for these services, all cash out of pocket. Find any other doctor and see them instead. This OD is dangerous to the health and safety of her patients.

Joy needs a real psychiatrist -I am really worried about her. She is not qualified to be prescribing Benzos and other psychological drugs. She is NOT a psychologist or psychiatrist ( she needs one for herself ) but is not one.she is a DO and not certain if that is even qualifies her for treatment of others in a mental realm. I would definitely not evertake anyone vulnerable to her. She is quite an arrogant person . Arrogance and ignorance do not mix well and she is definitely both. Just very worried about any of her clients. They are mentally abused . At least I was and that is not right. She needs her license taken away for prescribing Benzos and she has no education on reasoning and laws behind her . She needs heavy inspection. Iwould never go to see her again I am really worried about her.she seems to be insane . Definitely not qualified to work with vulnerable people . She has problems of her own that need addressing.

The most condescending and rude woman. Should lose her license

I, and my family have been frequenting Dr. Joy Ross for 15 years. No one knows meds as well as she. No one listens as well as she. She is fearless and spot on. I am amazed at how poor her rating is and just don't get it. i only give her 4 stars because, unfortunately, a lot of mental illness can not be cured but all of it can be managed. She will help you manage your situation better than anyone i know.
