Dr Joyce Goldenberg

I had been recommended to Dr. Goldenberg by an attorney who spoke very highly of her. I couldn't tell you from my experience, though, because her office manager refused to let me see her after I had filled out 40 minutes worth of paperwork. I had mentioned I may not be able to go there for PT as I have a little one and may need to be closer to home. When I was recommended to her, I was told to go there for an exam. I had no idea she even had PT in her practice. A woman at the front desk called the office manager who proceeded to tell me that if I do not do PT there, it is not worth it monetarily for them to see me as a patient. He then went on to say that if I did not do their imaging, he would only give me a PT script for 30 days and no more. He knew I was pregnant, and I reminded him I could not do imaging until after the pregnancy. He then told me I could not do physical therapy then if pregnant and could not been seen by the practice. This is my second pregnancy. I along… with tons of women have had PT while pregnant. However, he hung up on me while I had already waited 40 minutes in the office to be seen and refused to let me be seen. I'm just wondering who allows an office manager to dictate who gets scripts for physical therapy and has the authority to refuse a patient from being seen by a doctor. It is illegal to mandate a patient continue at your practice for PT and even worse to deny a patient because she is pregnant, and cannot do the imaging. He asked if I had an attorney from my car accident (I was rear ended) and point blank said well you don't have a case if you can't get the images done. I was so shaken up and mortified that I was turned away from treatment because he did not see immediate dollar signs for the case. Not to mention, being completely ignorant about the abilities to treat someone who is pregnant. I am sorry to have to write a negative review, as it would have been wonderful to meet a doctor who received such rave reviews, but this office is horrendous. I was advised to contact the American Medical Association over what went on. There were other patients in the waiting area who heard the conversation and could not believe what they had heard either. I just hope no one ever has to go through this again.
