We were extremely happy and satisfied with the work Dr. Calisto and his team did with our son who was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s Disease. Born premature at 31 weeks, our son was first diagnosed with NEC and later on with Hirschsprung’s Disease at Joe DiMaggio’s hospital in Hollywood, FL. While we were initially going to have the surgery done at Joe DiMaggio, we decided to look for a second opinion in South Florida, and we landed with Dr. Calisto and team at Nicklaus Chidlren’s Hospital. His vast experience and work done not only in the US but internationally with regards to this procedure made us feel confident this was the way to go. From the preparation for the procedure, to the actual surgery and post-op we felt we were in great hands and taken care of.

I'm so very thankful to this doctor. My daughter's story can be heartbreaking to tell. My daughter since the age of 3 was always constipated. She would frequently get blockages in her bowels would not go to the bathroom everyday I was lucky if she go to the bathroom once a week. I've been to numerous doctors in New York because of her age bracket at the time being from the age of three to the age of eight they told me she was holding her stool and that it was in her head. For years I would argue with doctors in New York that there was something wrong with her we changed her diet numerous times no gluten no dairy etc. But the result was the same my daughter either had chronic constipation or she would leak from her rectum due to a blockage. My daughter was always out of school she leaked from her rectum or had severe gas pains or stomach pains.My daughter suffered with this issue up until we met Dr Callisto recently. My pediatrician during the last stomach attack to go right to Nicklaus… children's hospital. So I drove the two and a half hours from Port St Lucie down there hoping that someone would be able to help her here. She was in Tower 5 for a week seeing the Gastrology team I was lucky enough to have the surgical team on hand checking in on her case and the head of that department was Dr Callisto. After a week in Tower 5 Dr Callisto asked for her to be transferred into the fetal Care unit which is the surgical unit there they took over care and within a couple days my daughter was going to the bathroom and feeling better. My daughter is now 13 years old and with his care she's back to acting like a normal child. My daughter got used to just living in the house not going out with friends no going to the mall with girlfriends not even to the beach with her family didn't want to go out for fear of embarrassment (leaking)She was depressed all the time. She always said she didn't feel good .Thanks to him her life has changed for the better my daughter looks forward to going to school going out with her friends for the day hanging out in the neighborhood things she never used to do she literally sat in her room on her Xbox or sat on the phone with her friends. Now she's excited about going out and doing things exercising total difference from what it was for the last 10 years I am very thankful to this doctor anybody who is recommended to going to Nicklaus children's hospital for the similar issue please look up Dr Callisto. Dr. Calisto performed an emergency surgery on my one year old daughter for an ovarian cyst she had. The surgery took place at Nicklaus Childrens Hospital. Dr. Calisto was great with caring for my daughter, explaining the diagnosis, and educating us overall on what to expect. My family and I are very fortunate to have had Dr. Calisto and his team on call the day of the surgery. While I had only met Dr. Calisto an hour prior to the surgery of my one year old, I felt extremely confidant that my daughter was in great hands just by Dr. Calisto's demeanor and approach in speaking with us. Thank you to the entire staff at the hospital as well, because everyone was great with us.

I had been having intestinal problems for over two years. I have seen 2 other specialists that work with intestinal problems, and it wasn’t until Dr. Calisto that we were finally able to find a solution! Dr. Calisto and Raquel Pasaron and his entire crew were very helpful and it shows how much they care about making sure their pacientes are getting the best care possible!!

This is absolutely the best clinic to take your kids who have chronic constipation, encopresis and the likes. For 4 years my son was suffering from severe constipation and we saw many GI doctors. No one ever took the time to look at his colon and Dr Calisto’s team did just that. They are experienced especially with children with special needs and handle them with the best care. After our treatment of removing all the poop, my son is free and clear of the constipation that caused him so much discomfort and other issues. This was within 2 weeks from consultation. I love the care that they show and they are not just quick to diagnose kids without the proper tests. The follow up is also wonderful. I highly recommend Dr Calisto and his team. I promise you that you will get results.
