Stay away! Medical malpractice and neglect

Dr. Juan Ortiz (my nickname:!Superman) is a phenomenal PhD. He listened to my medical issues and he resolved; immediately. I truly adore and have Full Faith in Dr. Ortiz. I recommend him personally to the world. He’s a very humble, kind and earnest man. Thank you and your team of professionals, including Necolle because she was the reasoning behind give my faith in you because I was afraid but she has a calming Holy Ghost spirit that eased my soul, so thank you all.

Great experience with Dr. Ortiz. I underwent a breast aug that I had wanted for such a long time. I love the way I look now especially this summer in my bathing suit. So glad I had it done finally!

I have had two procedures done by Dr. Ortiz: a labiaplasty one year ago, and a breast augmentation with silicone implants six months later. I couldn't be happier with the experience or results! Both procedures went smoothly from pre-op appointments to post-op followups. I told Dr. Ortiz that I wanted a proportionate implant size with more fullness, and I got exactly what I wanted. My breasts are symmetrical, perky and still natural-looking. I am also very happy with the results of my labiaplasty and feel more confident than ever before. My post-op pain was manageable with tylenol and motrin. In fact, the most difficult part was forcing myself to slow down and give my body time to heal, because I felt fine after a few days! I did not experience any complications. The whole practice team was professional and kind and the practice was clean, bright and organized. Dr. Ortiz took the time to answer all of my questions and was very straightforward and honest, giving me a realistic… idea of what to expect in the recovery period. I certainly recommend him and his practice!

I was diagnosed with DCIS. I was told to go to Dr. Ortiz to have my left breast reconstructed. He took his time. He gave me no information about the implants. He kept reminding me that my left breast was gone and the reconstructed one wasn't real so it would not look like the right breast. I have had 6 surgeries. On the 4th one I had the tear drop implant put in and a nipple reconstruction. I had a round saline and salt water implant put in the right breast. I had a triangular shape on the right side of the left breast. It was a lot smaller than the right breast. I mentioned how much smaller the left breast was. I waited 4 months the left breast still had the abnormal shape. When I told him about it, he said the breasts looked good and I shouldn't expect the 2 breasts to look the same. I kept saying I knew they would not look the same. I just was concerned about the abnormal shape. He said i can't read your mind, and why didn't I say something sooner. He said the pictures didn't show… it, but they did. it stood out. He said I'll look at it but I don't think there is much more I can do. I'll have to refer you to someone else if I can't.

I was a patient of Dr. Juan Ortiz and got an extensive amount of work done by him totaling approximately $50,000. I paid for this all in cash and did not use Care Credit or any other loan agency. I saved for years to be able to get all of this plastic surgery, and I was never short than devastated after he completely botched me in every single procedure that I had done by him. I had a breast lift, breast augmentation, mini tummy tuck, thigh lift, and butt lift and I have severe scarring from all procedures that are in need of scar removal surgery which most likely will not come close to fixing it completely. One gets plastic surgery to better themselves, not look totally worse from unrepairable scars. When I got my breast implants, he cut center in my breasts from one side of my breast to the other side and the scarring is thick and risen. He should have cut completely under my breast in the crease like every other surgeon so you can not see the scars, but instead, he cut in the… middle. It looks absolutely horrid. When I got my breast lift, I had a hematoma and my stitches ripped, causing me to wake up in a pool of blood. The rupture also caused really bad scarring on top of the scarring that I already had from the surgery when he cut me in the middle of my breasts. When I had my butt lift, it too ruptured and I was left with a gash at the bottom of one one butt check that was approximately 4 inches long if not longer and 3 1/2 inches wide. I had to pack the gash with gauze just like I had to pack my ruptured breast and I did so for an entire 9 months until the gash completely healed. To this day, the scar from that hurts, itches, and is thick, risen, and purple in color. I asked Dr. Ortiz if he could do a scar revision surgery on the awful scar because it caused me a great deal of discomfort, but he claimed he didn't have an appointment time to do it for another 6 months. That's funny because when I was paying tens of thousands of dollars to get my initial surgeries, he was able to schedule my surgeries right away, with no delay. However, since it was his negligence that caused the hematoma in buttock, he was liable to fix it cost free and he didn't want to do that so he put it off for half of a year. Also, when my breast ruptured after my lift, he admitted it was because he stitched me up and forgot to turn off the pump that circulates the blood flow, causing an excess of blood to build up in that breast. He could have fixed the problem immediately, but didn't. I called him the same day I had my breast lift and told him my one breast hurt and was a lot bigger than my other breast. He should have known right away what was wrong and fixed it, but he did nothing just like he negated to fix my painful scar on my buttock that was again, his fault. He says he is double board certified but I have learned from my new plastic surgeon that not only can a plastic surgeon pay to be board certified without truly getting the certification, it is up to a plastic surgeon to continue education and learn about new plastic surgery techniques because they are always changing. However, it is not a requirement to do this and some do not, which can be detrimental to their patients. Dr. Ortiz is not old though so in my opinion, he doesn't have an excuse to say that times have changed and he is not familiar with new plastic surgery techniques. He is not in his 50s or 60s for that matter. As a matter of fact, my new plastic surgeon that just reconstructed my breast augmentation is actually 71 years old and knows the latest plastic surgery techniques and is always continuing his education simply because he wants to be the best surgeon possible for his patients. He actually performs breast augmentation strictly by making a one inch incision in the armpit so there is absolutely no visible scarring that one can see on the breasts. He is amazing and I thank God I found him. He is the second board certified plastic surgeon to tell me that I was completely botched by Dr. Juan Ortiz. If not one, but two board certified plastic surgeons told me the same exact thing, I'm confident that it is true. Do yourself a favor and do not go to this surgeon! Please don't even go there for simple lip injections. I got lip injections from this facility too and they also messed that up completely. Dr. Ortiz and his medical staff are completely incompetent and should not be allowed to practice any form of medicine. There are great plastic surgeons in Pinehurst and Raleigh and I urge you to make the extra trip to places in those locations so that you may find a good surgeon. And please take it from me, I had not one but 5 surgical procedures done by Dr. Ortiz and all 5 were botched. You cannot say it was just an accident 5 times! Please go elsewhere and save yourself the money and heartache.
