Dr. Judah David Pifer, MD

Dr. Judah Pifer is an amazing Orthopedic physician who performed a total hip replacement on me 10 months ago. Before that I had slipped on ice onto the hip, which then caused more back pain than usual and caused a limp. I was fearful about surgery and Dr. Pifer said I could go to P.T. before having surgery. I went to P.T. and although it got me in shape for the surgery, it did not lessen my hip pain. The fall had caused my leg to be a bit shorter which in turn caused more back pain and I LIMPED! I had never felt old until I limped like that! I used the months before surgery to learn about post op, what I would need at home, etc. By the time I had the surgery I was more than ready. The hip pain disappeared rapidly and I progressed quickly, while doing all the protocols such as ice, elevation and the compression stockings off and on. I have to point out Dr. Pifer somehow adjusted for the leg length discrepancy and now my legs are the same length again and NO LIMP and no pain! I… am just over-the-top happy with my outcome and am glad to have found this wonderful, wonderful doctor in Prescott!

Dr. Pifer has no bedside manor. He injected gel in my knee, and I was in excruciating pain for 2 days. Ended up on ER. I asked why it happened his reply was I don't know. The last 2 time I seen him he sat in the exam room squeezing pimples on his right for arm. Never spent more than 2 minutes in exam room. Never again I don't give Dr's. second chances.

Dr Pifer replaced my left hip in Nov 2023. I left the hospital with a Staph infection. For a month he did not detect the infection. Only after I ended up in the emergency room with puss flowing out of my leg did he respond. Dr Pifer then replaced the socket joint. He did not replace the ball joint even though it was "loose" . He said he "tried to cement it" and if that did not work he could go back and replace them both. The leg is still very painful but I am never going back to this doctor.

Dr. Pifer was arrogant and uncaring about the pain I was in. I was a new patient and he spent 5 minutes with me. Didn't do an exam or take x-rays. Referred me to a radiologist. I asked for pain relief and he told me on his way out the door to keep doing what I'm doing, which I had told him was not working.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Pifer! Went in for a toe that needed straighten! Thanks for a good experience from the office staff, dr and thru surgery! I would highly recommend him, knows his stuff! Happy patient ??

Tried to get an appointment. Put in hold over 10 minutes. Called back and was told I would have to go to back of call line and wait that they were on phone with other patients but staff was listening and laughed. Very unprofessional !!! If they were on the phone they wouldn’t be able to listen to my conversation. Will talk to doctor about his staff.
