Dr. Judith B Anderson, PhD

I wasn't going to leave a review, but then I saw one that literally looked like it could have come from me, and I decided everyone needs to understand that what has been said is true. I went to Dr. Anderson for 3 years as an adolescent and in that time she had my parents convinced that I was the worst child in the world, when I was clearly traumatized. She traumatized an already traumatized child and taught my parents how to get away with child abuse. She lied to me about a very personal experience and about something that was of vital importance to me, without any rational reason for doing so. Dr. Anderson convinced my mother to keep bringing me, and once, I remember standing in the hallway while she talked with the Psychiatrist she had to evaluate me, he said, "there is nothing wrong with her, she is just a teenager" and she looked at me, and whispered to him, "Shhhhh...don't you want your $200.00 each month?" Later the Psychiatrist lost it while speaking with me and told me that he… couldn't continue treating me in good conscience. This woman is a charlatan and is only interested in making money. She has absolutely no investment in helping children, but instead, manipulating parents to continue to use her services. It breaks my heart to know that she has been able to continue in this profession even though she has been reported to the board several times. This woman even tried to convince my mother that she was the reason that I didn't become pregnant while under her care...couldn't have been the birth control my mother put me on when I was 12 years old. As an adult, I want to say this, my childhood was not ideal, and absolutely nothing this woman did or said contributed in any positive way, if anything she actually made it exponentially worse. Please do not take your child to this woman. Please, no child deserves this. Thankfully, I survived and was able to find myself and heal as an adult, but I wouldn't wish my childhood on any person.

I love that I can come rate now that I am an adult. I have had experience with several therapists and psychologists in my lifetime and I can tell you as an adult, I can see the errors in her ability to treat a child with extensive childhood trauma. If anything she made those traumas worse by creating new trauma on top of the original trauma. She manipulated my parents into continuing visits even though I shut down and could not trust her or feel comfortable around her. She advised my parents how to talk their way out of abuse and lied to me about a very personal trauma. I could never recommend her to anyone, if ever you are in need of a truly caring and compassionate, honest therapist, please go elsewhere. If you see your therapy is not getting you to a desired level of adjustment and healing in a reasonable amount of time, it is your freedom to change therapists. Be well!
