Dr. Judith Gwanvalla Feh Fokum, MD

I was told I did not have Rhuematoid Arthritis. I do. I was told I did not have osteoarthritis. I do. I was told I had a bacterial urinary tract infection. I don't. I had 4 annual physical examinations cancelled at the last minute. It took nearly 5 years to get that annual physical. They had no clue when I went in the office why I had not been there in all those years. I had endless calls that required calling me back. Did they? No. It wasn't until I had to demand they send me to specialists for Rheumatoid Arthritis that I found out I had it. I had it for years. Did Dr Fokum know she is supposed to monitor my high cholesterol and meds for it with lab work? No. I had to tell her (keeping track of when/how often this should be done), or it would have never gotten done. Mammograms? Bone density tests? You guessed it...I had to tell them it was time to have them done. Notes about my visits? Not one. Nothing was ever written in my chart as to why I was there and what...if any....plan of… treatments I have. So...in other words...I had to be my own doctor and get her and her office to do the things they had to do to be a doctor.

Zero stars, but you have o click on at least one to post a review. Dr. Fokum's office is haphazard mess of miscommunication, calls going unanswered, appointments constantly being cancelled at the last minute, getting prescriptions refilled, and a really rude staff. In the past 5 years, my annual physical was cancelled at the very last minute. I make these appointments a year in advance, and when I am called to reschedule, I am told I have to wait another 9 months because she has none other available. You cannot get a prescription refilled if you have not seen your PCP in a year, and something as simple as getting that refill is impossible. I left and never looked back.

Dr Fokum is highly knowledgeable,patient and thorough.

I left and found a very polite kind new dr.

Dr Fokum was an outstanding Hospitalist at North SHore Medical Center, and continues treating her patients as a PCP with compassion and expertise that is difficult to find in any doctor. I and my sister are both RN's, we have changed from long-standing PCP's to Dr Fokum and are delighted at her intelligence, diagnostic ability, and followup. Would HIGHLY rec to anyone needing a great doctor!

Dr. Fokum is a very kind and caring physician. I'm so glad I found her!

Dr. Fokum may know something about medicine, but she knows nothing about respect or bedside manner. She is a hospitalist who only sees patient who are admitted. If your family member has her as a hospitalist right now, call the hospital and ask for someone else.
