I liked doctor cook very much until Doctor Cook didn't think the following was a big deal when informed of my experiences with his staff of "doctors" the day after surgery! Doctor Cook rebuilt my neck. He removed the 2 disk in the base of my neck and fused the bottom 3 vertebrae together, then skipped a herniated disc because the disc above it was in worse condition and both of them were pressing up against my spinal cord. That top herniated disc was in worse condition so that one was removed and replaced with an artificial disc. The next day, his staff came late to release me. They sent my meds to two different pharmacies 30 miles apart of each other on a Friday and the doctor's office is closed on Saturday! The pain meds, opioids were sent to a pharmacy in Lakeway that was closed! Yes, closed!!!! Doctor Cook's STAFF SENT ME HOME WITHOUT PAIN MEDS AFTER TAKING MY NECK APART 8 TIMES,,,,,, 8 TIMES!!! Yet, three weeks before I had confirmed with miss Rudolph all the pharmacy information… and emergency contact information. I still have that letter! I called the after hours line. I received a return call from doctor Anant Patel and I used the term "doctor" very loosely! This guy is an idiot! He told me that night that he would not be able to send in the prescription until the next day because he had to return to his office! If that sob was in my appartment when he said that, I would have thrown him out the FUCKING WINDOW! 1:30 in the afternoon of the next day he still had not sent in the prescription! I had to call back and debate with him which pharmacy to send it to! He kept asking for the phone number of the pharmacy and every time I gave it to him. He said it's not in their list of pharmacies! WTF? I asked him three times if he wanted the address and he stated no, he needs to use the phone number! DUMBASS! I conferenced in my daughter and she gives him the address. This pea-brained jerk tells my daughter that that's the pharmacy he was telling me but I told him it was not the pharmacy! He's FULL OF SHIT!!! He tried make it seem to my daughter like i'm going senile! I wish that SOB was in my face when he said that! I finally got my pain meds at four PM that afternoon! Twenty four hours after being released from the hospital! I nearly called an ambulance that night 3 times and I almost committed suicide by jumping out of my third floor window just to stop the pain! But Anant Patel slept well! He didn't give a shit! Doctor Cook didn't think that experience was a big deal! That is what his office told me! When I finally went for my appointment with him three months later! He left me in the waiting area for 2 hours while attending to only 1 patient for 2 hours! His office closes at five and at ten to 5, I decided to leave and never, never, ever return or recommend that zoo! They also failed to tell me that opioids make you constipated! Two months later I was completely impacted and it took another month and two visits to the emergency room to clear my colon! Ironic how coloc was impacted but this office is full of shit! Stay far away! Especially from that IDIOT Anant Patel

An honest review of my experience with Dr. Cook and his practice. Dr. Cook is a fantastic physician. Personable, concerned diagnosis right on target- professional. Excellent communicator. However, I encountered multiple discrepancies with his staff. Poor communication, lack of awareness, attention to patient's needs, some staff members almost seem disgruntled. I found that a large percentage of the staff has disregard for simple matters such as scheduling MRI's, fulfilling scripts, making a patient wait for a long period of time without checking me in- gosh, it was a nightmare. Surgery was successful, but experience with staff and P.A. will steer me in another direction for future medical needs. Staff needs to be made aware to be a bit more emphatic to patients. As well, acting professional and being competent usually is a requirement to work with a physician and the public.

Dr. Cook performed lower back fusion surgery on me in Oct 2017. Before the surgery, I was in really bad shape. I was pretty much bedridden. He told me he expected me to make a 100% recovery. It's almost 3 years later and I'd say I'm at about 98%--which I'll take. No more pain or pills. I can walk, run and jump again. Thank you, Dr. Cook!!

My pain doctor suggested I see a surgeon at this point in the care of my back pain. After several unsuccessful attempts to use less invasive procedures to relieve my back pain and numbness in leg. I had seen Dr. Cook two years ago for my back pain but Dr. Cook told me to go back to pain specialist to try non surgical techniques first. Fast forward two years later, my doctor sends a referral to Dr. Cook’s office. I go online and set up an appt. I call to confirm the appt. Dr. Cook’s staff tells me the appt is cancelled and they haven’t received a referral. My doctor’s office says they tried repeatedly to send a referral but the fax won’t go through and when they called the staff at Dr. Cook’s office to see how they could get the referral to them they were told to just keep trying to fax it. How ridiculous. I guess he is a great doctor if you can get in to see him and he decides to take your case!

Dr Cook has been treating me for a little over a year. He is an excellent doctor as far as I am concerned. There were times that were really rough and he was always very patient. He is a brilliant surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone. He is very thorough and does not recommend surgery from the first, he suggests other ways to help besides jumping into surgery

I've had 3 pain stimulators.bi saw Dr cook a while back and had a family emergency and didn't go back. One day his staff calls me and says that Dr. Cook looked over my records and noticed I had problems with previous units and would I mind coming in to see him. Dr cook is a great doctor. He listened to me even though I was irritated because of all the issues with previous units. His thing was not oh I guarantee I can be the best doc in the world type approach it was more humble and almost IDK sincere? Lol I say that bec many doctors especy specialist have Godlike complexes. So I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. First let me go back to a previous surgery. After that surgery I was discharged. Now mind you I was in Fentanyl and OxyContin so I get it that that surgeon thought I could handle the pain. I ended up going to the emergency room the next day because of the pain. It was terrible. So my thing to Cook was I don't want to ever experience that again. After the surgery… I was admitted ð??³. I stayed there f three days. Comfortable and pain free ð???ð???ð???. Now fast forward to now. I went from. 50 mgs of fentany 20 mgs of OxyContin to So far 12 mgs of Fentanyl The OX went up to compensate the lower dose of the Fentanyl but my mind is soooooo much clearer now that I'm lower the dosage of my Meds. I hate opioids which is why I've had so many surgeries. I highly recommend the Saint Jude device because it covers much more areas of the body. Dr Cook, thank you my friend you have changed my life and helped me live again. Those meds had me feeling terrible. So between my excellent pain management doctors at Advanced Pain and Dr Cook im a new man. The staff at his office is very professional and return cals within 24 hours. Go see Cook ð???

Dr. Cook is a great surgeon and has wonderful bedside manner. He did a couple surgeries on me and I feel so much better now.

I was unable to get a referral to see this doctor because he does not take any form of TRICARE, which tells me he does not support the troops (active or retired)! From the other reveiws I have read about this guy, I don't want him to treat any one in my family anyway!
