Dr. Juha Jaakkola has been exceptional throughout my entire foot surgery journey. From my very first appointment, he took the time to thoroughly explain my condition, the surgical procedure, and what to expect during recovery. His knowledge, patience, and attention to detail immediately gave me confidence that I was in excellent hands. One thing that truly stands out is how committed he is to patient education. At every follow-up appointment, he takes new X-rays, prints them out, and carefully explains exactly what I'm seeing and how my foot is healing. He never rushes through appointments and always makes sure all of my questions are answered. Before surgery, I was extremely nervous and left a message with his nurse hoping to get some reassurance. To my surprise, Dr. Jaakkola personally called me back. He took the time to answer every question I had and completely eased my concerns. That level of personal care is rare and meant so much to me. During my recovery, I became concerned… that I might be having an allergic reaction to my stitches, something I had experienced with previous surgeries. Dr. Jaakkola went above and beyond by seeing me after hours at the hospital. He removed my cast, carefully examined my foot, addressed my concerns, and applied a brand-new cast. His responsiveness and dedication gave me tremendous peace of mind during a difficult part of the healing process. The procedure I underwent is a highly specialized surgery that Dr. Jaakkola performs only a handful of times each year, and the recovery process is much longer and more involved than a typical foot surgery. Throughout every stage, he has been attentive, thorough, and genuinely invested in my recovery. I cannot recommend Dr. Jaakkola highly enough. He combines exceptional surgical skill with compassion, professionalism, and outstanding patient care. If you are looking for an orthopedic surgeon who truly cares about his patients and takes the time to ensure they understand every step of their treatment, Dr. Jaakkola is the doctor you want on your side.

The entire staff at Optim are warm and welcoming. Virtually no wait time to my appointment. Dr. Jaakkola walked me through three treatments options beginning with the least invasive through potential surgery. Encouraging me to try the simple approach to avoid having surgery. Dr. Jaakola visit was on time and he is very personable and at the same time focused on the patient’s problem.
