Julia Hanson, CCC-SLP

Julia Hanson, CCC/SLP is a Speech Language Pathologist. She joined Essentia Health in 2009. Julia earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in the areas of Psychology and Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of MN Duluth. She received her Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Julia's professional interests include evaluating and treating a wide range of voice disorders including singing rehabilitation, upper airway disorders such as paradoxical vocal fold movement/ exercise induced laryngeal obstruction (PVFM/EILO) and chronic cough, gender affirming voice training and evaluating and treating swallowing disorders including head/neck cancer care. She works as part of an interdisciplinary team in the ENT department to evaluate voice disorders. She also completes evaluations in a multidisciplinary team for …PVFM/EILO. Julia completes instrumental evaluations for voice and swallowing including Laryngeal Video-Stroboscopy and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing. Julia holds training and certification in rehabilitative programs for individuals with Parkinson's disease, LSVT LOUD and SPEAK OUT!
