Dr. Julian Lowell Haro, MD

Dr Haro us an excellent dr. He listens attentively, and treats chronic pain effectively. He founded this clinic many years ago. Dr Haro has a special talent for giving effective pain injections. Please keep in mind that some of the negative reviews may have been written by addicted people that were denied pain meds.

I have been with Dr Haro for 27 years now. I have a very rare and complicated disease that took 11 months of just testing spinal injections to find what worked enough for me to want to continue to live. Dr Haro is kind, he listens to me, he goes the extra mile and allows me to have input as to how I would possibly like to try a new treatment. He continues to keep abreast of new techniques with continuing education every year. If you are in terrible pain and have had no success with other doctors, I highly recommend Dr Haro.

My only complaint is the medical technicians on staff. I'm not sure if there is an RN in charge of this staff anymore. Many are untrained and are not suited for a job in the pain management area. All I have is praise for his staff that have been there for over five - six years. New techs lack the understanding, patience and compassion for the people who walk through these doors. I certainly wouldn't wish chronic pain, no matter the source, on anyone.

My advise is GO TO A DIFFERENT DOCTOR!!!!!

Physician is competent but lacking in affect. Staff is disinterested, untrained, ill supervised, ill suited to any role in a medical setting. Avoid this practice.

Dr. Haro and Helen Zook are best practices providers. They have cared for me for almost 20 years. They are caring even during difficult, high pain periods , The staff is awesome and friendly in helping you. You are not a number at this practice you are an individual. I thank them every day for keeping me going and mobile. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Haro is rude, arrogant, and is not responsive to any opinions but his. He missed my diagnosis and was embarrassed when finally doing a disco gram and I had three disinergrated discs and bone on bone. He had already told me the pain I described was not as bad as what disc pain is but continued to do spinal injections repeatedly with no relief but kept sticking in new place. He told me I was non compliant for missing two appointments when in fact the Nurse approved it and I picked up my scripts. On one missed appt my Mother had died and the other one I had military training. I sent him a copy of my Mothers birth certificate and my military orders. I have heard him talk to other patients rudely while waiting on spinal injections and I felt bad for them. He kept me on the lowest non opoid medication and when I went to two other professionals they said no way it would have covered my pain. I went to this unprofessional staff, and Doctor over four years. His level of… training, he should have diagnosed me correctly. I cannot recommend him and I am not upset because I could not get meds, I am upset that he is self centered and arrogant and treats patients rudely. I have seen other top Doctors in orthopedics and nuerologists and they kind of suck in their breath or roll their eyes as if in acknowledgement that Dr. Haro is not a good pain management doctor and have many patient complaints of those who go to them. I was in the medical field for over thirty years and have NEVER seen a Doctor with such a poor bedside manner or rude staff. He had one Nurse and two Nurse Practitioners who were great (one of whom I see now and is great and I am glad she got out of Dr. Haro's clinic). There are better clinics and for those patients who love him and receive good care, Great ! Don't judge me for the treatment I received from him but he repeatedly showed himself to myself and others as a poor physician that needs sensitivity training.

After being a patient of Dr. Haro for over 15 years now, I can positively state that he is the best doctor for the treatment of my chronic intractable neuropathic pain. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing treatment for pain other doctors cannot control or have no idea as to what is causing it. Dr. Haro has always been a warm, kind, and caring doctor.

He was extremely rude and every time I tried to explain my pain and the location, he ignored me and just kept feeling around my back. It also seemed like his staff was new and unsure of what they were doing. He also precribed a medication that I was told they should have started me with trial packs and instructions they never gave to me. Thank goodness I called them because I was horrible reaction to it and they asked me why I wasn't following the instructions and that I was taking too much medication too fast. I told them I received a prescription not a trial pack and no instructions. I could tell the lady was very frustrated with the Koenig office. I would not recommend any one to this doctor. He does not listen to the patient nor does the staff seem experienced.

i went to see Dr. Haro and when I got there i wass told my appointment was for another date but they would fit me in. I appreciated them geting me in even though I had made a mistake on the date. When I was brought back I was treated well by the staff. When Dr. Haro came out to see me he beganto scold me for going to the ER on a number of occassions for treatment of a neurological disease that is requiring me to have brain surgery in the next week. He started to discuss my personal medical issues in a room that included two other patients as well as his staff. All the people in the room heard him discuss my illness in a manner which was like a parent scolding thir child. i stopped him and recieved my treatment and left the office.he accused me , out loud, of abusing pain medications then proceeded to write a presciption for a narcotic to help controll my pain after surgery. He was very rude and needs to get away from his God like complex. I have been a patient for two years… with him because of 4 back surguries that will need constant pain management care in the future. I will not go back to him and will be filing a complaint regarding breaking my Hippa privacy.
