Dr. Julian Lucas Venegas, DO

Not sure he’s the patient type. Leave a message with his nurse, and chances are you'll either get half an answer or none at all. Getting decent answers during a visit depends on catching him on a good day. Otherwise, you might feel like your questions don't matter or that you're being talked down to. His compassion is hit or miss. One visit may be a friendly exchange, the next it's like he can't stand you. Despite his obvious knowledge, the overall experience is disappointing because of these issues.

Very caring and compassionate person. Spends time with you and listens carefully. Love the fact that he has a passion for a more holistic approach coupled with his knowledge of traditional medicine. Well worth the wait to see. Would definitely recommend.

My regular doctor has moved and I wanted to stay in the same practice and I only needed refills so I decided to go to this doctor to get refills and see what he was like and if I wanted to stick with him. HUGE MISTAKE! He told me I need to 'corral' my four year old son so we could get our 'business' done. He never asked anything about me and my life or tried to get to know me and why I was taking certain medications, etc. And then he said that because I wanted a refill for diazepam and lunesta (Which I take responsibly) that I needed to go see a psychiatrist! He also never said one word to my child - not Hi, Bye or anything. I don't normally bring my child with me, but in this case I had no choice. all of the Nurses at least spoke not only to me but my son as well. Then I came home and look at his name on my prescriptions and find out he's a DO! He isn't even an MD! I have no respect for him and will not be going back!

Venegas is not a happy person. He is just a worker's compensation doctor, and while yearning for his own practice, his qualifications limit him to being an insurance company lap dog, which is obviously frustrating for him. He disdains his patients. He actually told me he couldn't treat my condition becasue there was a "conflict" with his "medicine" and worker's compensation guidelines. I guess he took the Hypocritical Oath. It isn't surprising he works for St. Thomas Morgue, as the hospital is known locally. He misdiagnosed my injuries. I had to go to another doctor to recieve medical care. Untrustworthy.
