Dr. Julie Cheng Deckerman, MD

We have been seeing Dr. Deckerman for 20 years now- through 3 children with the youngest just turning 18 and off to college. I am myself a registered nurse. I feel Dr. Deckerman is up to date on the latest of everything. She accurately diagnosed my youngest with hip dysplasia on newborn exam. At 18 she is fine because of early diagnosis and treatment. She has always listened patiently to my concerns and is always willing to try other ways if I am not totally comfortable with treatments. My kids have all been pretty healthy so mostly we would see her for annual physicals but on the rare occasion we needed more she was always there and always correct in her diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Deckerman has always taken the time with my daughter as well as myself. The staff is helpful and courteous. An excellent change from other pediatricians. 5 stars. 4 isn't enough.

Dr. D. is somwhat rude to the father/stepmother (divorced family) based on lies the mother tells. The mother likes getting sympathy and attention based on the child's "illnesses." Despite thorough testing at National Jewish which revealed no breathing difficulties, the mother and doctor still insist on using inhalers. I would not take my child to a doctor that allows a parent's opinions to influence my testing, even so far as to override objective exam results.

Dr. Deckerman is a caring physician who actually returns phone calls. She spends enough time with you and encourages questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great pediatrician and practice.
