Dr. Julie Andrea Valencia, MD

It is too bad Dr. Valencia had to retire because she was the best doctor in Pasadena. She truly cared for her patients like no other and she took her time with your kids. Many of the bad reviews on her are uncalled for because all of those issues are out of her hands. Ignorant people seem to be unaware that if you show up late to your appointment, you will have to wait. She has other people to see... She is truly phenomenal and it has been hard to replace her!

Both of my children are patients of Dr. Valencia's and we absolutely LOVE her. My son is an asthmatic so we see her quite frequently, not once have I felt that she didn't care for his well being. If your not about tough love then I agree, find another doctor. She tells it how it is and that's what I like most about her, nothing is sugar coated. We will continue to follow her for as long as we can, she's a perfect fit for my beautiful babies.

She is a mom herself and that is comforting. A lot of what might not be great about a doc visit with her were things that were out of her hands. Once we get in the kids love her and feel good about their visit.

Dr. Valencia seems competent and knowledgeable enough, but I really don't like her bedside manner with my 1-year-old - and she's always incredibly rushed with me, too. She doesn't engage with my daughter (the patient) AT ALL. Just does things to her (quickly - apparently her only philosophy on interacting with the child) with no warning, and gets mildly frustrated with me when I don't restrain my child to her satisfaction while she does things in this way. What is that about? You're a pediatrician for crying out loud. This is what you do. You don't have any other way to examine a 1-year-old? My daughter reacts like she's being attacked. Plus, the reviews saying she's late are true. She's ALWAYS incredibly, painfully late for us. It's impossible waiting that long with a toddler. I'm looking for a new pediatrician.

We lost faith in this doctor before she even showed up. We were a couple minutes late to our appointment and she made us wait for an hour and half now and we still haven't seen her. The nurse has been reminding her that we've been waiting and should be seen next but she refused to listen and kept moving on to the next patient. No wonder she is the only doctor with an opening today. Parents, if you want a cold, mean doctor for your child, then she is the one for you. Otherwise, stay away! She explained that the policy allows her to make us wait till noon for an original 8:45 appointment as long as she sees us before noon. I can't believe how someone can be this spiteful, especially for a pediatrician! Needless to say, we are seeing another doctor!

We are disappointed that our insurance is changing and we will have to leave this doctor. She takes her time with us and makes sure all of our concerns are addressed. She is a mom and easy to relate to. I feel very comfortable with her. Her diagnosis and recommendations for treatment are clear and thorough.

Wrong! There's no way I believe these horrible useless reviews... some ignorant people hating the world & want to blame someone! They can have fun trying to find a dr. better than her... My children have been with dr. Valencia for years! We 100% trust her. She's an extraordinary dr. I would & have recommended her to my family & friends. She cares! Not like most dr.'s

It is a shame doctors like this still exist. Ignorant about nutrition and the complete wellness picture, dismissive and condescending. Has "medicine is God/infallible" complex. Agree with other review-would not take child here again.

Most disappointed with this Dr.'s wrong diagnosis and mean attitude. I have wasted hundreds of dollars unnecessarily. Pls. do not choose her for your child, if you care enough.

Dr. Valencia is the best dr. I could never say enough wonderful things about her. She has been our pediatrician for years & has always been there for us...helping us through the hard times. She's just the best! & our family has been blessed to know her & to have had her in our lives...
