Dr. Juliette Joy Nwachukwu, MD

Dr. Joy is a wonderful physician. She takes time to explain everything. She remembers who I am from one visit to another. I have recommended her to multiple friends and anyone who sees her raves about how wonderful she is and are greatful to of found her.

I saw Dr. Nwachukwu in what was relayed to me as an emergency. I had blood work that showed my cortisol level was near nothing. Without any further testing, Dr. N diagnosed me w/ secondary adrenal insufficiency & put me on 30mg of steroids/day. I immediately began to suffer from high blood pressure, gained 30 lbs. in 3 months, sugar was high, & I was not feeling any better. I expressed my concerns w/ the doctor, & she replied, "I guess you're going to have to eat healthy & exercise like the rest of us." She completely dismissed my concerns that the dose of steroids I was on was too high. Subsequently, I went for a 2nd opinion w/ a doctor that actually ordered tests to check & guess what? I don't have secondary adrenal insufficiency. Unfortunately, I'm still suffering w/ the long-term side effects of being on a high dose of steroids so long. Dr. N is dismissive of her patients' concerns & as a result puts them in harm's way. I'm struggling to get back the life I had before meeting her.

Dr. Nwachukwuu is incredibly rude and harsh! She doesn’t allow you to speak until she feels you should. She treated me like a child in kindergarten who Was learning manners. She wouldn’t listen to what symptoms I was experiencing. She kept speaking in medical jargon and when I asked her to explain she said what aren’t you understanding as if I was dumb and my question wasn’t valid. She’s awful!!!

I left her office in tears. She was rude and arrogant. As I remembered a symptom I had I said “oh I just remembered“ and she said “ When I’m finished speaking then you can speak, don’t interrupt me” That is when I should have walked out! The rest of the visit was just as bad. I would never recommend her. She explained that doesn’t diagnose or treat symptoms she relies on what the lab results. I should have read her reviews before going. As it is evident that many people have shared the same experience.

I would never refer anyone to see this doctor. She lacks concern and empathy for patients and she is rude. She likes to hear herself talk and uses uncommon vocabulary to make herself seem intelligent. I advise you to find another doctor to see.

- [ ] Worst experience I’ve ever had going to a doctor. She answered absolutely nothing. The only thing she’s good at is talking about the thyroid and how it would be treated. If that’s what I was looking for I would have just googled it.

Initially I liked Dr. Nwachukwuu and saw her for a few years, but my last and final visit, I left in tears and I never returned again! I went to her for a second opinion because I trusted her and wanted her thoughts. I had been an established patient of hers for a couple years by this time. Basically she questioned why I would come to her for a second opinion, as if I should just trust the other doctor and not question a recommendation for what would have been an unnecessary surgery. It was awful and the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor! It prompted me to write a letter to her office, which is something I never do, but I just could not believe how awful she was to me. She apologized at the end of the appointment because clearly she knew she was out of line. Maybe she was having a bad day, but after reading these other reviews, I felt much better that I was not alone. I would never recommend her.

Dr. Nwachukwuu was TERRIBLE!! She told me I have never had a thyroid problem before... but I think its so funny because ive been on medication since ive been 13 and im 30 right now. She told me in so many words that I was fat and needed to work out and that over eating was my problem... which is far from the truth. She barely let me speak during our appt and didnt care or hear any of my concerns. I will NEVER GO BACK!!! Horrible and rude.

I have only been to see Dr. Nwachukwuu once and I left the office more confused than when I entered. What I can say about her on a positive note is she seems extremely intelligent and up on medical information. She seemed to have vast knowledge on everything that came up and all my questions. However , she delivered the information in a condescending way. My primary sent me to her because although with a low dose of medication my thyroid numbers were back to barely within normal limits, I was still experiencing text book hypothyroid symptom, which were causing me problems. My primary thought an endocrinologist could get to the bottom of this. Dr. Neachukwuu walked in the room and said, your blood work is telling me your TSH is within normal limits, that tells me symptoms you are experiencing are not related to your thyroid. And that was the end of the story for her. She just went on my labs instead of listening to what I was experiencing. I go back for a follow up in a few weeks with… more bloodwork and hope I get a better answer. I’m still giving her the benefit of the doubt (although these reviews do not give me much confidence!)

She threw me and my wife out because I asked questions. She was very angry. Control freak.
