It is always a great experience at REVEAL EYE CARE & SURGERY where I've been a patient for several years! Front arena professionals ELIZABETH and DEVONNA, and ophthalmology associate ALICIA are always welcoming and gracious. When I'm there or appointments, I am able to observe & hear the team's interactions with each other, with patients in the waiting area and over the phone: they are consistently pleasant professional responsive communicators with each other and with the patients. DR. AAKER'S expertise and engaging and articulate communications always provides a great learning experience as well as what to expect for whatever procedure I'm scheduled for! My sister who is a patient with DR. AAKER'S medical practice confirms this is her experience & perspective of Dr. Aaker and his team as well.

My husband is a patient of Dr. Aaker, and I called to get an appointment as a new patient. The lady answering the phone wanted to know if I had a problem and was obviously reluctant to give me an appointment unless I had an outstanding eye problem….. Apparently, aging eyes is not considered to be a problem. Seriously??!! I think my husband and I will find another opthamologist whose front desk knows how to do their job.

For people who have Fuch’s and who live in, or close, to Austin, Texas, I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Justin Aaker in Georgetown, Texas. I went to him 3 months after my surgeries regarding swelling, redness, and tearing issues, and worsening vision in both eyes that were increasing in severity that my surgeon was not willing to address. I had sent Dr. Aaker’s office a timeline summary of my surgeries and issues prior to my appointment. At the appointment, he was on time and prepared; he had read the summary and researched possible solutions prior to my appointment. He took one look at me and said, “Well, I can see that something is wrong.” And then we proceeded to have an actual two-way discussion. He then did rental testing (my first since pre-surgeries) and found that my right eye was dangerously swollen (it looked like Pike’s Peak) and my left eye was not far behind. A situation that I understood probably had been building since my surgeries. He listened to me as I… explained that my eyes were very sensitive and proposed a change of medication and a dosage amount that was less than half of what he would recommend normally. Three weeks later my right eye is down by more than half and my left is not swollen at all. My eyes continue to be red and look bad (it is not dry eyes as I consistently use drops for that), but we are unwilling to change medications until my right eye is normal. We have discussed alternatives and I am sure when the time is right we will try other medications that my eyes might tolerant better. Although my surgeries went well with my first doctor, I really wish I would have found Dr. Aaker at that time and gone with him. I have read testimonials from his patients who have had him perform their DMEK and they have been very satisfied with the result. I sure know that I am.

Really smart and caring doctor

We are so thankful for Dr. Aaker’s guidance. We would have been lost without without him. Our daughter had a terrible stye that became infected. We saw 4 different ophthalmologists before seeing Dr. Aaker. All four told us how to treat the infection, but also told us there was nothing that could be done about the swelling. Dr. Aaker, on the other hand, recommended an effective treatment for both, and it worked very quickly. My daughter said it best — “Dr. Aaker is the best doctor in the whole entire world!” We can’t thank Dr. Aaker enough for helping us!

Do not cancel and appointment with Dr. Aaker, you will not be able to reschedule, that is my experience. I cancelled an appointment days before my scheduled one and when I tried to reschedule I was unable to, my file was flagged. I was told that it was because I either didn't show up or I had cancelled many times, neither is true. Unfortunately I need a specialist and I do not live in the Austin area. Dr. Aaker was recommended by my eye clinic. Disappointed and frustrated! I have never heard of flagging a patient after one cancelled appointment.
