Dr. Kala Sury, MD

I wish I had met the caring, warm, funny and compassionate doctor that other reviews met. The Dr. Sury that saw me was rude and abrupt and if she had any compassion in her, she hid it well. I felt like an invoice, not a human being. I went to Dr. Sury because my coverage changed and I needed the initial required follow up visit after receiving my CPAP machine. She asked me why I was there to which I replied that I've been using my CPAP machine for 1 1/2 months and would like to know the next steps. She replied that there are no next steps. That now I use the machine. I asked about monitoring results. She says she doesn't do that. I asked about getting better at which point she told me that I don't get better, I use the machine for the rest of my life. I happen to know there are alternate treatments but not according to her. She acted like I was an idiot for bothering her. She actually picked up a call from another patient and had a conversation while I sat there. No… excuse me, no sorry. The call was about the other patient's union needing documentation for insurance which she sent so it's not anything she didn't do and if the union has a problem they can call the supervisor etc, etc. Really? How is that professional?! When I told her I thought that was rude she merely responded that she had to take the call. Really? I listened to the call. She didn't have to take it. I felt that Dr. Sury was actually annoyed that I was asking her questions and I left feeling frustrated and hopeless. The best I can say is that she has a horrible bedside manner.

Dr Sury is a special kind of doctor that treats her patients with compassion as well as tough love. Under her care, my condition stabilized as she continued to seek ways to improve it. I am deeply indebted to this doctor; she demonstrates how much she cares about her patients.

Now after a year I'm back, no one was able to get to the cure of my problem as Dr. Sury
