Dr. Kamaal A. Jones, MD

Kamaal A. Jones, MD, FAAP, is Co-Director, LEAD Program at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Jones’ is a pediatrician and also the creator and host of Kids Today, a YouTube show focused on highlighting child advocacy issues around the nation. His clinical expertise centers on pediatric primary care, focusing on the healthcare needs of infants, children, teenagers and young adults.After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences from Cornell University in 2013, Dr. Jones earned his Doctor of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine in 2018. He completed his pediatrics internship at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health in 2019, followed by his pediatrics residency at the same institution in 2021.Dr. Jones’ research focuses on child health advocacy, policy and equity, with a particular focus on children of incarcerated …parents, juvenile justice and gun violence survivors. He was principal investigator of a research project exploring the analysis of a support group for children of incarcerated parents. A former policy analyst with the American Academy of Pediatrics in California, and an inaugural Medical Justice in Advocacy Fellow through the American Medical Association and Satcher Health Leadership Institute. Dr. Jones has given several invited presentations and his work has been published in peer-reviewed journals.Dr. Jones is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2021, he received the Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. The same year, he also received the Caroline Graham Lamberts Gratitude and Service Award from Stanford Medicine.
