Dr. Kamal Alexandre Hamod, MD

I wish I could give no stars. The worst experience of my life.

Dr. Hamod has been by OB/GYB for almost 40 years. He helped me birth my children—with aplomb and serenity....even though he had to deliver may youngest on Christmas morning. He is kind and conscientious.

I had a horrible experience here. Dr Hamod made me feel very uncomfortable and seemed to care more about me doing a procedure than coming in and complaining of a uti the day of the procedure. It turned out that I had a uti and if I had the procedure done it would have made things worse. He also told me that if I canceled the procedure again I would be kicked out of the practice. He might have been able to help some people but I need a doctor I am comfortable with and does not treat me that way especially in dealing with sensitive issues.

I was recommended to Dr. Hamod by a very good friend of mine and I would say I am not very keen on Dr. Hamod. Dr. Hamod has a condescending demeanor about him, he does not listen and had the nerve to tell me that I am too optimistic about my situation. I have been bleeding for a month and he told me that its normal. He is not a good listener and does not really seem to care about your concerns. I am currently in the process of looking for a new doctor.

Dr Hamod is my obgyn for 10 years. I delivered all 3 my kids in great condition with his help. He does very good surgeries and I don’t even have a scar after it cos he makes sure you look great after child birth. Very kind and funny. I admire doctor so much I named one of my child’s name after him.

I went to Dr. Kamal by a recommendation by a coworker. He was late to my appointment, which to me wouldn't have been a big deal if he was a good doctor. However, it seemed like before he even examined me he already had a condition set in mind for me, and cared little for what I needed. He was very rough during the exam, one of the most painful exams I ever had. He continued to make the exam painful to prove a point that I had some condition (btw his clinic specialized in this condition). After the exam, instead of explaining exactly what the condition was he stated that I would need surgery ( I am of course terrified at this point). He wanted me to schedule a date for the surgery that day. Although I never usually question a doctor's medical advice, My gut told me I should get a second opinion. I felt like I was sitting with some salesman trying to sell this surgery to me, not a doctor. I got a second opinion with a female doctor who was horrified that a doctor would… resort to such an invasive treatment for a condition that was so minor. She explained the "condition" would do little to nothing to impact my daily or sex life. She has never heard of case where surgery would ever be suggest as the first option of treatment for this condition. The surgery the doctor suggested would be cutting off a layer of skin, which would result in months of pain making it difficult to even use the bathroom. Needless to say it was one of the worst and terrifying experience ever and to top it off I got a lab fee for over $300.

I went on a recommendation of my regular OBGYN for a 2nd opinion. He was condescending and combative from the start when I said I didn't like the way he was posing some of the questions, he insisted it was normal. I could tell he was annoyed. Before he even examined me he already had his mind made up of what I had and disregarded my comments or concerns. Oh, his clinic happened to specialize in what he diagnosed me with. During the exam he was rough to prove a point. I have never audibly yelled, "Ow!" in an exam before. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. I ask that he not send the tests he was going to send because I knew I didn't want to go back, and to complete this terrible experience, I got a lab fee for over $200 for the tests his office sent anyways.

I initially went to Dr. Hamod based on an enthusiastic referral from the technician who did my mammogram a few years ago. Little did I know at the time what a fortuitous encounter this would turn out to be. As it turned out, Dr. Hamod immediately recognized issues I had that he is ideally suited to treat. I have confidence in his knowledge and skill, and have felt well cared for in his hands and those of his staff.

I thought that I just needed to suffer through the pain! Now I realize that I can have a second chance--thanks to the wonderful staff who made this experience so positive and affirming!
