Dr. Kanchana Subramania Anand, MD

I would like to add that I actually *would* forgive her if she would reflect on her behavior and perhaps apologize to my family. I understand no human being is perfect and she is an otherwise good doctor who knows her stuff. But it pains me that she never acknowledged how her insensitive behavior hurt my family in our time of grief. That's the only intention of my post - not to slam her but just to make her more aware. Thank you.

Dr. Anand knows her medical information extremely well and is top-notch in this regard - but unless she receives sensitivity training, my opinion is that she should NOT be around patients who are dying. I will never forgive her for scolding my now-deceased mother for wanting to live! It was so heartbreaking for me to hear Dr. Anand speak to my mother in this way, as if my mother were an inconvenience to her. : ( I feel that such a cavalier, ego-centric attitude was *completely* inappropriate! I tried to take this up with Kaiser but they told me I didn't process the paperwork in time which is the only reason I'm unfortunately left to say it here. I'm sure Dr. Anand had good intentions, but her behavior made an already extremely traumatic experience even worse for me and other family members, adding to our loss. She is an intelligent, knowledgeable doctor so I would definitely trust her with medical procedures - you would be in good hands there - but my opinion is that she should NOT be… around any emotionally-charged, life-or-death situation that require compassion and gentleness until she receives some kind of sensitivity training and learns how to communicate in a more humane manner to patients and their families.
