Dr. Kang Kwon, MD

I have know Dr. Kwon for 27 years or more when he started being my Doctor as a child and he changed my life for the better and I'm a better person having known him. Its and honor to know him and blessed to have him as my Doctor. HAPPY EASTER Dr. Kwon

dr kwon was my first doctor to diagnose me with a mental illness, he prescribed antidepressents and i am still taking prozac to this day. he accurately diagnosed me with manic depression, it was a really long time ago before it is well known as bipolar.

i was a patient of Dr Kwon for over six months. Dr. Kwon saved my life and put a name to what I was experiencing for many years. My diagnose was a hard pill to swallow, but after researching and doing some self reflection, I knew he was correct, once I accepted it my healing process began (not over, but in progress) and for that I will always be grateful. The journey of finding a new physician after Dr. Kwon retired has left me angry and empty due to the dismissal and arrogance of so many Psychiatrist. Most of us are there to seek help, not to be turned away. I fully understand the Psychiatrist right to decide if and when they want to continue treatment with a patient, but I am having a hard time with the reasons I am hearing from others I spoke to and what I've experienced. If a Psychiatrist agrees to see a new patient, please be sure the only reason you will deny them your expertise and assistance, is something valid, and it probably would help to show and prove your facts… and/or reasoning, because otherwise, saying you won't help someone, with what you took an oath to do, says more about your Professional abilities rather than what you think you may know about anyone. Not once did Dr. Kwon make me feel that way. I am so disturbed by the lack of help available in the Flint/Grand Blanc area for those of us battling with mental disabilities.This journey has inspired me to start a website about this, I had know idea this was taking place and people are actually allowed to get away with it. I'm hoping in my efforts people like myself can find the help needed without feeling ashamed and rejected. And most importantly, my hopes is I can help save a life. DO NOT EVER LET ANYONE MAKE YOU FEEL GUILTY ABOUT WANTING TO DO BETTER. It's their issues, not ours. Once again Thank you Dr.Kang Kwon you are one of a kind! Happy Retirement!!

Called in the wrong dosage of prescription and nearly overdosed me causing me to have to admit myself to the hospital, I could not even speak or make words on the meds he called in ! Once I was admitted t the hospital his response was " I called in LOW dose 10 mg I told him NO you called in 30 mg !! Then the last time I seen him in tears in his office begging him to help me he told me " I CANT SEE YOU ANYMORE ! " I was so upset ... REALLY !?!?!? A person is on the edge and your response is ......ugh ... I cant see you as a patient anymore ? WTH ! Has ZERO compassion DO NOT SEE THIS DR !

Overall experience superb.He is warm and approachable.Non-judgmental. Neutral.Took extensive notes.One of the most top-ranking psychiatrists I have ever had. (and I have had many).Dr. Kwan is top-of-the-line.
