My regular doctor was off that day. I went into the office due to having the following symptoms during pregnancy. Headaches (lasted about 6 days at the time of appointment), blurry vision, nausea, and my home blood pressure monitor was showing BP fluctuating from high to normal. Went in, checked for protein in urine, ran BP... it came out High. Sat back for a while, it came back normal. Explained this has been happening to me quite a bit. I also have a history of migraines so I was in shock when the doctor told me I was having migraines (I protested. After many years of migraines, I know the difference) and prescribed me Sumatriptan which is a level C drug which was told to me by my pharmacist that causes many problems with fetus, embryolethality, and they advised me GREATLY against taking the medication... especially if I was convinced that I wasn't having a migraine. I took a few days off work, which was very stressful at the time, monitored my BP and noted everything for my next… doctor appt with MY doctor. The headache lasted for about 8 days total. I always ask my pharmacist if a new drug is safe during my pregnancy, thank goodness, but you trust your doctor to diagnose you accurately and prescribe drugs that are known to be safe for your baby. I wont see her again.
