Summary
Karen has a passion for working with patients with various upper extremity impairments and dysfunction. She graduated from San Jose State University in 1988 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Therapy degree. After graduation, she achieved her Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential in 1993 and has been exclusively treating impairments and functional limitations of the upper extremity. Karen believes in encouraging her patients to maintain a positive and optimistic outlook all while implementing an individualized treatment approach with hands on interventions. Karen has a particular interest in treating trauma of the upper extremity and custom splint fabrication to maximize function. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and bicycling.
