Dr. Karen Dominger, DO

Wish Dr. Dominger would have called us directly when our mother was in critical condition and near dying instead of having one of the nurses do it who couldn't or wouldn't answer any of our questions

She always calls back and goes the extra mile to comfort her patients

all talk - no action mother died in her care or lack thereof. just another stony brook misfit.

Dr Dominger is one of the most compassionate and caring MDs I have ever known. Dr Dominger works well with her patients and is a skilled clinician. I am outraged by the prior review that I read and feel that their opinion couldn't be further from the truth. There are many Drs out there that do not care, Dr Dominger is not one of them.

my loved one, who was under dominger's care, was suddenly taken to the hospital with a fever and pneumonia symptoms and passed away a week later! this dr? didn't even examine my loved one to determine that they were coming down with a serious illness that could have been prevented and treated if she would have caught it earlier by just maybe using her stethescope (you would think a dr would know how to use one of these??)!! i guess she thought, "why bother; one less pain-in-the-neck patient to deal with!" thanks for nothing "doc." if your loved one has this dr?, make sure you change out this dr? ASAP if you want your loved one to have a chance at survival!!

Dr. Dominger is like no other doctor. She was my mother's main health care provider at The Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook for five years. I am writing this 16 months after Mom's passing. Dr. Dominger was so 'down to earth' - never an alarmist. Most compassionate and caring - went 'above and beyond' for her patients whether family members were there or not. Even made Mom cups of tea herself. Wish all geriatric patients and their families could have the experience of such a wonderful doctor!

Dr. Dominger does not have a private practice so these questions are not applicable. She is my mother's physician at the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook. Dr. Dominger is the most kindest, gentlest, down-to-earth, low-key physicians I have ever known. She jumps up herself to make tea for Mom and also performs tasks that no other doctor would. We are so blessed and fortunate that she cares for our mother and other residents at the LISVH.
